MusicBee 2.5.5759.32845, Windows 7 x64 Prof

Hi,

I switched from MusicBee 2.0 to 2.5.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug regarding the artist pictures. With version 2.0, MusicBee showed the artist pictures which have been stored within the files (flac and mp3). Now with version 2.5 MusicBee does not show the stored pictures anymore. Instead of the stored pictures MusicBee takes the pictures from the Internet or shows placeholder without Internet. The album covers are fine.

I can't see the whole contents of that box, but it looks like you might need to enable/prioritize "embedded" in the album cover search rules.

I tried this before posting, but this setting does affect the album covers only, not the artist pictures.

You're right, I just woke up and misread it.  Oops!

This probably has to do with changes that were made to allow the use of custom artist photos.  I'm not sure if there's an easy way to go about getting artist photos from the files to the Artist Pictures folder on your harddrive.  You might need to make a wishlist request to use embedded artist photos if none are available in the folder.

Maybe someone else has an idea...?

Version 2.0 was able to take embedded artist pictures - why should version 2.5 not be able to do this? For me this looks still like a bug.

Bug or feature change - this seems to be a question which needs to be answered by Steven.

Because over the course of more than three years between 2.0 and 2.5, Steven may have made the change for whatever reason.  You can look through the release notes to see if you can find a mention of it.

Yes, I agree.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Hi Steven,

Thanks for clarification.

I wonder why MusicBee is able to use embedded album covers but not embedded artist pictures. It does not make sense to me to store one picture (album cover) within the music file and another picture (artist picture) as separate file.

Is there any chance to get this feature back?
