Assume I have a *.m3u playlist (created with another audioplayer).

When I try to open it with MusicBee then it does not work.

musicbee always opens its previous (internal ?) playlist (not the just passed *.m3u).

How do I tell MusicBee to wipe all currently shown songs and load the opened Playlist?

Sounds like you already have some tracks in your Now Playing list. If you empty it first (right click> list> clear list), then it might work. Also check your "Play now" action setting under Preferences> Now Playing.

Ok, thank you it works.

However when I right click in WinExplorer on an *.m3u file and select "OpenWith"--->MusicBee then the
Playlist is loaded and the first song starts playing but the playlist is NOT shown in MB main window.

Why not?

The playlist pane remains empty

to permanently add an external playlist to the library (as opposed to loading it into the now playing list which is what you are doing), just drag/ drop it from windows explorer into the Playlists node in the left panel, or include playlists using the file scan function
