New install, need a little help setting up.

I have installed MB today as I am planning to switch from iTunes. All of my music is on an external hard drive. I can see the Import From Library/Import From iTunes menu selection. What I'm uncertain about is if MB will try to move the files rom the hard drive onto my C: Drive which would be a problem as there isn't enough space. Or do they just remain in the same place on the external hard drive? Do I need to point MB to the itunes music file somehow as the default location for files?

Follow on questions - will it also import my iTunes playlists?

If I rip CDs can I direct MB to copy them to the external hard drive rather than the C: Drive.

Sorry for all the newbie questions but I couldn't figure it out.

importing shouldn't move your music files with default mb settings. playlists, i think, wont be imported.
