Cannot import playlists from Winamp

Hello Everyone,

I have been searching for an answer to this in the forum and on the wiki for a couple days, but I have not been able to find an answer.

Is there any way to import Winamp playlists? I have recently switched over to MB, but I have tons of playlists that I would like copied to MB from Winamp. Is there any way to do this?

If anyone has a simple link to a forum thread or wiki answer, that would be fantastic!

If you're using the latest version, try File> Playlists> Import playlists command.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I had already tried that, and it did not work.

Do I need to convert the format of the playlists or something to that effect? I have numerous playlists that I spent time developing, and I would really like to not have to start from scratch.

What is the format of the playlists?

They appear to all be one of two things: Windows Media playlist or ZPL file.

Then convert them to m3u format first, and import to MB. You will find tons of guides if you google it.

Do I need to convert every song on the playlist? Or just the playlist itself?

Sorry, I googled it, checked several links, but did not find what I could use.

ZPL is a Zune playlist.

Try this to convert them to m3u playlists that MusicBee can import:

Thanks for this link. I converted numerous music playlists to m3u format. However, MusicBee is not importing them when it scans.

Any further suggestions?

How/what are you scanning?  If you're using the latest update (http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Latest_Update), try File > Playlists > Import Playlists.

Also try opening the M3U playlists in a text editor like Notepad and check that the paths in the files still match the path to where you have saved your music files. MusicBee can't import tracks if it can't find them at the specified location.
