@Alumni, the usual download link has been updated with a fix for the startup issue

@ankor
v3.0.5841  Library Explorer is displayed in left sidebar. I can right-click on something in the Artist list and select Queue Next. But the item added to Playing Tracks is the currently selected item in the Main Panel, not based on the item in Library Explorer.  Is this intended behavior?
it would only happen if you had a file selected in the main panel but i will attempt to correct that behavior so it always selects all files when initiated from the library explorer

edit:
thats fixed for the next update

Unable to add .mkv files to the library with the latest version. Dragging and dropping them just doesn't do anything.

I thought a good workaround would be to just add the .mkv files to musicbee 2.5, and then start musicbee 3.0 and see them there. But trying to edit them (their tags) in 3.0, musicbee will crash.

.mkv files are only supported to play back video, not for editing or playing in MB. You need to tick "import video files" in the File Scanner (press Insert key)
i am not sure about how drag/drop works with these files and i dont have time to check now

I do have that option enabled and still it won't work. Works fine with musicbee 2.5. You got my settings file in a pm (just in case).

Any video won't be added to the library, not just mkv.

I like adding them just for managing them with musicbee.

When you have selected an album in Album covers view, and then click a track in Now playing panel, the border color doesn't immediately change from highlight to lowlight.
It will change though if after that you resize the whole MB panel a little bit.
thats fixed for the next update

When you start MB, the search box displays the text "search" and has the "NotActivated" color.
But as soon you have performed a search, and the search field is cleared and out of focus again, the word 'search' does not return.
Also the color for the background of the search box doesn't switch back to "NotActivated".
while i agree what you say is better behaviour, the way it works now is the same as v2.5 and as intended. I might change it depending on time permitting

In the left panel you are able to double-click the entries under 'Services' and change their names. (the changes won't stick though)
thats fixed for the next update

When you click the scrollbar arrow, and the scroll the panel down, these entries stay in sight at a fixed location.
It even remains on screen when MB is minimized.
thats fixed for the next update

1. Double clicking on Album picture in Library, when Play Album option is selected under Panel Settings, will start playing that album, or sometimes will queue that album but start playing the song next to currently played song instead of adding album to queue without changing playback, even though it is set to Queue Last in Preferences>Now Playing>Now Playing list (in 2.5 it always queues last, both albums or tracks double clicked when Queue last option is ticked; I don't know whether this is by design or V3 accidentally overrides Queue last setting from Preferences)
could you PM me a link to your settings file (help/ support/ View Settings)
Also could you confirm that you are using a very recent v3 version (last few days) - some of the things you said made me think you might be using a slightly older version
I can reproduce incorrect behaviour when double clicking and it always used the "Play Now" setting rather than Queue Next or Last if configured that way. That aspect is fixed for the next update

edit:
can you also send me your v2.5 settings

The main panel always shows the entire album when searching or browsing. There should be an option in the context menu (https://i.imgur.com/jDQB6Zt.png).
i removed support for that in the artwork layout for v3 because it creates some difficult to resolve issues for the new way the artwork panel/ sorting/ filtering is implemented

another thing:

when i click on the dropdown in the main panel and track info panel, i get customise panel, but for other panels there is no options for customize panel!

is this intentional? i think it would be better to have that option in every dropdown for easier access.

When using custom search there is this wasted space issue:

http://musicbee.niblseed.com/V3_0/MusicBee3_Patched.zip

unzip into the musicbee application folder and run MusicBee3.exe

- fixes for the bugs stated as fixed above
- support in the Now Playing panel for a playlist oriented layout using track details or album and tracks

Could the opening location of the Custom Search window be persistent?  Every time it's opened it appears towards the upper left of the MB window despite where it is when I close it.  Thanks.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.
