Regarding Preferences->Tags (1)->(artwork storage) Set Retrieval Filter->Album Artwork Retrieval Filter window:

Would it be incorrect for me to assume that clicking the button "Rescan Artwork" should first clear out the ArtistThumbs cache folder, then rescan the "artist pictures location" folder?

Right now it seems that it doesn't do this. I can place new (or update current) artist pictures in the folder, hit the rescan button, but the thumbs don't update. If I manually empty the cache folder and restart MB 3, it picks up the new/updated pictures perfectly.

p.s. I really like MB 3's overall GUI changes!

[Correction] I can get the thumb(s) to update by simply deleting them out of the cache, then hitting F5 to refresh MB 3. (I don't have to actually restart MB 3.) Still, I feel like the "Rescan Artwork" button should first clear the cache, or at least force the cached images to be recopied if a newer file is found in the artist picture location folder.

@Steven

Not sure if this is a bug or not... Using the layout I PM'ed you, selecting all albums of an artist, and then sorting something (by play count for example). The bug is  gone, but when you go to another artist and click on an album, all songs will stay sorted by what you did previously (example, play count). It doesn't do this in musicbee 2.5.

nevermind this, its better like this~

I have one suggestion/improvement or feature request whatever it is.
currently to add a song to playlist you have to this:

or using the sidebar drag and drop, but since my sidebar is hidden, it become tedious.

I don't get the idea of putting playlist in the submenu, it is a essential feature of any music player and should be a bit easier to access it.
Why not put it in the main menu not in submenu,
or having an icon which will dropdown a list of playlist to add that album(ofc it is not necessary to have this)

yes i agree, now the left sidebar is hidden by default, handling playlists from the main panel becomes more important.
I will at least move "Send to -> Playlist" to the main right click menu level as thats available everywhere, not just the artwork panel

If you also could implement an option to name newly created playlist through "Send to -> Playlist -> <New playlist>" then that would be great. I think having to open the sidebar to give the thing a name is a bit cumbersome and not very intuitive for new users either. Maybe just a pop-up when one clicks <New playlist> to prompt for a name, with a default text 'Playlist' already selected in the input field?

http://musicbee.niblseed.com/V3_0/MusicBee3_Patched.zip

unzip into the musicbee application folder and run MusicBee3.exe

- Send To -> Playlist -> ... has been moved up one level in the context menu and now called "Add to Playlist"
- adding to a new playlist now pops up a dialog box to enter the new playlist name

Could somebody confirm that the happy little button here doesn't do anything?
(Album Auto-Tagger panel)

Thanks, definitely easier to find and use :)

I clicked on it and got a popup with suggested genres for the album I had selected.  For a completely unknown album I got a popup stating "No genres have been suggested"
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Few ux improvement suggestion:
currently when in mini player mode you click on the search icon and it opens now playing assistant,

What is the point? they both shows the same content only with search bar. Unless you choose other options from the dropdown.

Why not do something like this, it is a mockup.

While now playing assistant is good when in other mode, but it would be better to merge them in the miniplayer, also there could be other button placed on the miniplayer toolbar.

Thnx Phred, then it's probably just because I'm messing with all kind of stuff here that that button doesn't do anything here currently.

Hey Steve, first let me say I really love your music player (the most I like is the explorer like usage to search directories [I don't like to make music libraries :)], I already tried to make my own player with the Bass library in C# with more or less results), anyway.

I have two (more or less) issues, I really hope nobody has already posted something like that because the thread got already too big for me to read every post.

First issue:
The first time I loaded my Playlists in 3.0 I've got file not existed errors when single tracks where loading with a cue sheet from an flac, ape, wav or tak file. After re-adding every single cue lines/files the issue disappeared.

Second issue:
Inside the file-view-list in version 2.5 it showed me the rendered tracks (lines) from an existing cue sheet (same name as the audio file), version 3 just show me the single audio file.

I use the current build: 3.0.5841

Maybe you can look at this issues, or maybe I miss something like an option for this. Thank you :)

you need to make sure the library playlist format is MBP and not M3U, otherwise individual virtual files from a cuesheet cannot be split. I am using this feature without issues for playlists
