GUI changes for v3.0

The differences is that still you can make sidebars disappear temporarily but resizing a bit instantly recovers sidebars. Previously it didn't. Maybe you could consider not allowing any panels to disappear by resizing other panels.

This still happens by dragging side borders of left/right main panels & vertical column browser.

I had the thumbnail browser panel on the right of this sidebar, and was able to drag it completely to the left, and removed it out of sight (under the left sidebar), and could not drag it back anymore.

i have finally been able to reproduce this and should be fixed for the next update

Yeah, MusicBee will take anything entered in that field as an.override for the normal "$sort" behavior

That makes sense. So I should be leaving the sort field blank when it comes to prefixes?
Still it is strange that the behavior differs between these panels.

i have corrected the sorting behavior for the Artist layout when Sort Artist, Sort Album Artist and Sort Composer are used. It should now be consistent with other panels.
For other views such as Album and Tracks/ Track Details it should already correctly sort

- for the thumb browser panel and for the main panel, when an artist is displayed and there is no artist picture, MB now shows one of the album covers
- also for the thumb browser, when grouped by genre, genre category or custom tags, one of the album covers is displayed is there is no (genre) override picture available

Awesome, all working perfectly for me, thanks very much! By the way I did notice a bug with the thumb browser, when you change views in the main panel, sometimes the thumb browser will refresh but it doesn't load all the content properly, for example the pictures won't show until you manually press refresh.

- Tickboxes were lately added in front of "available elements" in panel editor. But if you click on tickbox, no indicators show up. Could be useful if they still show up, then the user could drag the item instead of just releasing the mouse button.

i'm not sure i agree that the two Adele tracks should show in the main as they will also show when you click on Adele. They would not have in 2.5 so i am inclined to correct the main panel filter

I think in this case Adele shouldn't be listed. All tracks 5 & empty 5. Please don't remove the feature as it's quite useful filtering to tracks with no album artist tag.

Edit: On second thought, you have a point. Many people won't tag album artist at all. Just make it consistent either way.

I can't rate tracks from the playlist view. small screencast (youtube)

you have disabled "enable direct editing of tags in the main panel" in the Tags(2) preferences.
However i see that v2.5 allows rating to be set even when that setting is used so i will correct that

I didn't dare asking it again, it's so good to have reimplemented this behavior (I rate all my music using MB3, but I do all the other tags edition externally, so apart rating I don't want to do tag changes in MB3).
But maybe some people would also like to lock the rating tag editing as well. Maybe a specific option to "enable editing rating tag" could be shown when the "enable direct editing of tags in the main panel" option is unchecked.

update for anyone having problems with the podcast panel

Couple of new bugs:

1. (MBv3 specific) When minimized to MiniPlayer and when track list in MiniPlayer is shown after resizing and minimizing MB again MiniPlayer won't go back to where it was (bottom right at this time), it's position is shifted up as much as of hight of track list.

2. At the beginning of gif notice how track position time is not even near the mouse cursor on Wavebar, that issue is present for some time now, no issue on MBv2.5 though.

3. That song is marked as having no lyrics, but in lyrics field next to artist picture it's just blank. It was better on MBv2.5 where in lyrics field stated:

- NO LYRICS if user marked song as such
- NO LYRICS FOUND if status is not clear whether it failed to find lyrics or the song contains none and isn't properly marked by the user

This BLANK is kind of confusing behavior.

And just one question, is there a way to prevent this weired possibility to edit song attributes/tags trough the playing tracks list when slowly double-clicked? It is Windows Explorer behavior, but I think it's not very convenient here, at least not for me. So, if there is no way right now, there should be in the future releases of MB a way of disabling this if user wants to.
