GUI changes for v3.0

With the column browser, you usually start to select an item in the most left column, then one in the second column, third, etc., and the filtered results will show in the main panel.

When after selecting an item in the third column, and then deciding to go back one step and click on the (already selected) item in the second column, the filtered results in the main panel don't follow that action.

It would be nice if it did.

When enlarging the Tag Inspector window, the panel resizes, but the content pane does not increase.



Also there is no limit set to minimal horizontal or vertical size.

A minor wish:
Under Main menu > File, have an entry for 'open file', so you can open a file or playlist from within MusicBee.

I had the close button painted on the left of the caption bar in the main panel.
same position as phred, in line with the RH stop button, but his was on the header of a dialog window - mine was on the main window.
On the skin I was using it was immediately recognisable as the highlight close button.
If you look closely at the image provided by phred, it appears to be the highlight close button as well.

i did realise it was the close button but the key point is its when its highlighted, so thanks for saying that as it focused my thoughts on what the issue might be and now i can reproduce it easily and its fixed for the next update

unzip into the musicbee application folder and run MusicBee3.exe

this version should be pretty much complete in terms of v2.5 skin support, except there are differences with the tabs handling. I encourage any skin developers to check out the following topic to request new skin elements or report bugs with a skin you created

The option to have presets for the column browser would be very nice to have.
There is some space for it....

I really love a lot of the changes on V3.0.

Something i see is that the artist photo on the new "Now playing" doesn't fit the screen, it goes over. Will it be possible to choose to fit the screen?

thats right. Its the same as v2.5 and i dont want to spend time to enhance it

Just noticed that we are not able to drag files to a playlist tab like we used to in 2.5.

Would it be possible to enable this functionality? Extremely useful when creating multiple playlists saved in different sub-folders.

With that picture MB is reducing the cropping by fitting it to the left of the right sidebar instead of fitting it to the entire screen.
given the original is a small square picture, i dont see how MB could improve that in a general way.

It seems like it is not cropping it to the bottom of the page. The face tends to go past the below line. So the persons face gets cut off.

yes it weights cropping the bottom more than the top. I think generally that works better but perhaps not so well in this case
