Author Topic: Changing tags works but they return to original tags when I restart MusicBee.  (Read 2458 times)

I want to change Genre tags and although they save during the session, when I restart MusicBee all tags restore to the previous ones.
The files are not on "read-only". The files are APE and FLAC. I don't have any problems with MP3 files. Windows Media Player is not running in the backround, nor I ever started it. The problem has only appeared after I formated the computer. Any suggestion is welcome. (I already searched past threads and I can't find any solution).

what you say doesnt sound believable to me so i suggest you check the tags immediately after saving using the tag inspector.
If you still think its the case then can you PM me a link to one of the files and indicate exactly what you are changing

They are all big files, sorry, can't send them directly to you.
It's the same file, two different websites.
I am only changing the genre tag, I select all tracks, press edit, then in genre I put another genre. When I restart the program the changes are undone.

its working fine for me. I suggest after editing/ saving you check the results using the Tag Inspector which can be opened from the tag editor.
I did notice there is a cue sheet and if you added the files via the cue sheet it may somehow be related to that. I suggest you update to v2.5 from the first forum topic.
But i wont be able to help you any further with this

Thanks a lot Steven, you're awesome.
The cue sheet was the problem, sorry for wasting your time. It's now working.
