"CD Art Display is a free desktop program that shows the current song cover in a customizable skin."

Official site: http://www.cdartdisplay.com/

The SDK  can be downloaded here:

I think it's a pretty useful program and I wish I could use it with musicbee.  :)

a few people have asked for this so here it is!
http://www.mediafire.com/?zyxyznikwzz

Some instructions:
- you need to have CD Art Display version 3.0 installed
http://www.cdartdisplay.com/index.php?categoryid=14&p2000_sectionid=3&p2000_fileid=19

- you then need to overwrite CAD.exe with the file from this link (ignore the other files in the zip):
http://www.cdartdisplay.com/beta/cad1035-sdk.zip

- start CD Art Display

and thats it - it should work with MusicBee the next time you start MB. The only thing i am having problems with is the lyrics sometimes get out of sych with the playing song.

I can't get it to work. Installed Cd art 3, over wrote with cad from zip and updatet latest musicbee.exe from zip.
There is no option to select musicbee in cd art options. Tried to use "registred player" and pointed to musicbee, but that didn't work either.
Am I missing something?

i'm guessing you havent replaced either MusicBee.exe or CAD.exe (in the folder CAD is installed, not the MB folder) with the links above
I'm updating both tonight to fix a problem with lyrics but the current links should otherwise work.

With the current versions make sure you start CAD first and then MB

In CAD, if you go to the Options/ About tab does it say 'CD Art Display 3.0 Beta - Build 1059'?
And in the Player Options in CAD does the player location point to MB? you shouldnt need to do that, but it just means MB hasnt registered yet for whatever reason

this fixes the lyrics and some other minor things

the updated CAD.exe (overwrite the exiting one wherever CD Art Display is installed)
http://www.cdartdisplay.com/beta/cad1059.zip

And MusicBee to work with it:

This is a great add on :)
One question. Everything "regular" works just fine, but when using Cad as a screensaver, exiting the screen saver makes cad stop loading all info, and has to be  restarted again.
Is this due to the custom cd.exe, or is it a problem with the cad program itself?

this is the next yet-to-be released version of CAD.exe from the developer of CD Art Display.
I'll pass this information on and hopefully between us we can resolve quickly

Jep. I've posted the problem on the cad forum also :)

This is just great for my HTPC setup :)

  • Long live OiNK!
The links are dead. Does anyone have the files still to re-upload somewhere?
*EDIT*
The latest MB installer from the download page did the job. I had to copy that .exe into CAD's instillation folder. ie 'C:\Program Files (x86)\ CD Art Display'

@Steven, if this is a feature in MB, it may need to be removed, as it seems the website in the initial post is entirely gone.

This site seems to be working. But I know that the program hasn’t been supported in a very long time.
