Everything is so great with the app so the only thing I could wonder at the moment is why there are no such a common windows animations like minimize/restore/maximize, smooth scrolling, menus transitions etc? Is there any fundamental cause for that? I guess that with those little niceties it would be totally unbeatable in any way.

Welcome to the forum!

First of all, apart from advances in visual possibilities, animations and transitions will always be of personal taste.
Many will start disabling as much eye-candy as possible sooner or later. Often they have no added value when you really look at it, and will mostly distract, even how beautiful it may look.

Secondly, MusicBee has one sole developer. (yep, jaw may drop to floor now)
He actively responds to bugs and requests that are reasonable and shared by more than one.
Since these are usually addressed in a very supportive and time-consuming manner it will leave less room for less pregnant requests or bugs.
Considering all this, you are of course free to put any specific wishes in the wishlist topic. With enough support they just might become fulfilled one day, or maybe rejected with some valid arguments.
