I have downloaded MusicBee for the first time (v2.3) but when I try to run the .exe file I get the message 'Unable to locate Musicbee.exe - run this installer from the folder Musicbee is installed'.

I have re-downloaded several times and tried to run the installation but this message persists.

Could not even download it via Chrome as it was blocked! Had to use IE.

Can anyone please help with this issue?

I am running Win7 64 bit.

Welcome to the forum!

That sounds like a message you would get if trying to install a beta without first having the current release installed.  Did you download it from this page?

What a mystery!  Trying now, all the downloads worked okay for me, and I can install regular and portable both (also on Win 7 64-bit).  What is the file you're installing called?

Edit:
For good measure, I uploaded a setup file that worked okay for me, here: https://app.box.com/s/qi1m0qc5pap7v5y08ixa

Give it a try if you want.

Ah, yes.  Not sure how, but you've managed to download a beta.  Give the file I uploaded a try.  Then you can install the beta on top of it.

Sterling job! That worked a treat.

Now I face the daunting learning curve in my effort to abandon iTunes and WMP.

Many thanks for your help.
