I love how this feature has evolved but here are some suggestions for improvements:

1. Double-clicking the song info in the now playing panel should take you to the playing song, not just the album/artist
2. It would be nice if artist/album header were middle-clickable like in the album & track view

This x 100.  I really miss the usual library navigation/management features in this view.  I'll try to do things like that several times before cluing in to why it's not working.

this has the following changes:
- middle click now supported in the expanded panel area for the headers
- the goto track command (eg. double click player bar) now drills down into the specific album when grouped by artist

I havent had time to test fully so you might want to keep a copy of the current .exe

I might be missing something but I have two things I'd rather change via a settings option:
- When I double-click an album in artwork view so that it is being queued, when the expanded view is not active, I don't see the point of the expanded view popping up.
- When I double-click on a single track in the expanded view, rather than it activating 'play now' and thus clear my list and start playback, I'd like the option of queue next or queue last like you can configure for double-clicking in other views.

for the first i wont implement that as it would mean MusicBee having to wait until the 2nd click (which can be up to 0.5 sec) before being sure you are not double clicking so able to open the expanded panel
for the second, the behavior is as configured in the Now Playing preferences which you should be able to change as you request. Trying that now its working fine

Fair play. Sometimes we mere civilians ask for the impossible from developers.  ;)

I see how changing the 'Play Now' action setting affects the double-clicking in expanded view, but wouldn't it make more sense to link the behaviour in the expanded view to the 'action when adding tracks using double-click and quick tracks' settings just above that?

a couple of small fixes
- remove extra 100px added to height of expanded panel by mistake from yesterday's update
- respect the "automatically select playing track in main panel" setting from the Now Playing preferences when the expanded panel is open
- the colour highlight setting for the same option wont be implemented as the colour of the expanded panel changes

Could a doubleclick on the artwork in the expanded panel open the full-size artwork, like in the now playing pane?

One thing that I think needs fixing: -

With CD rips, all of my albums are tagged with track numbers that are numerical. Everything works fine.

With vinyl rips, I tag them with track numbers that go A1, A2 etc. for the A side and B1, B2 etc. for the B side. When I play one of those albums/EPs, no track numbers show up at all in the expanded view.

I think it needs to work like the Now Playing panel, where it uses 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. regardless of what the tag info says.

non-standard track numbers should now show and double clicking an album cover shows a popup
its done for the next v2.4 update

Coming from this thread: http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=13080.0

How about making the top cover of album stacks to follow "Sort Albums" setting when grouped by (album) artist?

In the screenshot above, the top cover should be "Parachutes" instead of "A Rush of Blood to the Head".
