Author Topic: Rename Genre?  (Read 3148 times)

I'd like to be able to take a given genre and be able to change the name of it, and have that change propagate to all instances of that genre in a tag. Because of having multiple genre tags, I can't just select all -> right click -> edit to do this, since I'd be losing a large amount of additional genre data in the process. So, for example, I'd like to be able to take the "Fantasy" genre tag and replace it with "Theme: Fantasy" everywhere that it exists without disrupting any of the rest of the multi-genre tags, which are all "Genre 1; Genre 2;" and so on. Is this possible with MusicBee's editing tools?

Use Tools> Tagging Tools> Search and Replace command.

Thank you! That works wonderfully. I figured there had to be a way, I was just way too thick to figure out what it was. <3

Just to be a pain-in-the-ass ...
Should I assume that this-all assumes the installation of
boroda74's Additional_Tagging_and_Reporting_Tools
(http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Additional_Tagging_and_Reporting_Tools)
or this built-in?
