Running MusicBee 2.3.5188 on Windows8

So I have been trying to change the MusicBee icon with the method recommended here (http://www.howtogeek.com/75983/stupid-geek-tricks-how-to-modify-the-icon-of-an-.exe-file/) - and it changes the icon for the .exe file. But when the program is open in the taskbar, it still shows the original MusicBee icon. Why is this?

Open the skin file you're using (note that skin files ending in xmlc are uneditable)  and search for:

<element id="DefaultIconName">MusicBee</element>

Change "MusicBee" to another icon name you want to use. The icon file should be stored in MusicBee/Skins folder.

Using the "Jistme the Bee" skin (an .xml), searched for it (using ctrl+f, not just by eye), and notepad said it didn't exist in the file?

Actually, there's an easier way.  Go into Preferences > General and click "select icon".

Right. I forgot the setting.

You could just insert the line to the skin with your favorite icon name or use the setting scampbll mentioned.
