Hi,

I've been using MusicBee for several years, using it to manage music files on my computer, and then using the sync feature to, via USB cable, then sync my music playlists to my Note 9 Samsung. Mostly, it has worked brilliantly.

However, every now and then, it would abort mid-sync, leaving a message like "Aborted... Element not found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070490)" (See image below). Usually, it would right itself the next time I tried (usually after restarting computer and phone and then trying again).

Unfortunately, over the past week, it has stopped altogether. It gives the above-listed aborted message every single time, no matter how many times I restart, or walk away and try another day.

For context, my music collection on my computer is stored on a portable hard drive (Seagate) that I connect to the computer (Acer Travelmate running Windows 10), and my musc collection on the phone is stored on a microSD card (running through Rocket Player). I have been using this system for the past year or so, with no problem and nothing has changed at my end.

I'd love someone to please help me solve this.

I dont have any idea as to what would cause that.
If you want to stick with musicbee, then i suggest you create a virtual device (Preferences/ Devices) and then use another tool to copy the files from the folder of the virtual device to your device

Thank you for your prompt response,  Steven. Fortunately, this morning, after about three days of "aborted" error messages, my latest sync worked. The only things I did differently this morning was clear the cache of Rocket Player on my phone and change the setting on my computer for actions to be taken when I plug my Samsung in (to "ask every time"). I'm not sure if either of these things had anything to do with my changed syncing fortune.

I do know, from what I have read on this forum, that at least one other user has expressed a similar experience of intermittent "abort" problems with syncs (I can't seem to find the post now).

I definitely do want to keep using MusicBee, as it is a fantastic player for use on my computer and a seamless (apart from these intermittent "aborts") syncer of large playlists from computer to phone.

I'm not sure how to do the "virtual device" option you suggested, but hopefully, if MusicBee starts to (mostly) work again, as this morning's success suggests, I may not need to enact it. Thanks again, and thanks to everyone out there who has contributed to creating the marvelous MusicBee!

Kind regards,
Paul

You might look into using the MB wifi sync app on your Note 9.  It's faster (no long scan) and I've experienced fewer problems than I have with USB.  You've already done wired synch, so you should be good to go as soon as you install it.

The one thing to note using Rocket Player is the MB can't sync play counts from the device back to MB. Only PowerAmp and GoneMad will do that.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Thank you,  frankz. I hadn't tried wifi sync yet, because I thought it might be slower, but it's good to hear it might be faster and less troublesome. Thanks for your suggestion. My next sync will be wifi one!

Old topic I know, but came up in my search for this exact problem, same error code. I found on another site that someone deleted their playlists and that solved the problem, so thought I didn't have anything to lose, so I re-exported my 5 "permanent" playlists, and copied them to my phone replacing the ones there, just using Windows File Explorer.

Then tried syncing again in MB, and lo, it worked!

Thought I'd puit this here for anyone else with the same problem.

I had just run into this as well, and the same fix worked. Just deleted the playlists off the phone and did a resync.
