Hello goobers, gooberettes, and otherwise

I'm trying to take my ~40gb library and sync it to my phone, but compressed, because my phone does not have that kind of space. Musicbee's built in sync & compress shenanigans are the only convenient and non-manual way I've found of doing that, but it's giving me issues.

Here you can see two copies of the same song. Every song has two copies, except, the second copy refers to a directory that literally doesn't exist. The second copy isn't actually present in my library, and even MusicBee's duplicates manager thingy says there are no duplicate songs. It's only when I go to sync my music, that it tries making two copies of every file.

Also, while I'm here, what the hell are these "profiles" about, what does "standard", "high", or "maximum" mean, what bitrate, what quality? Why not use like, specific numbers, and then maybe add in brackets whether a certain quality would generally be considered high or not, if the given individual is not that familiar with bitrates and whatnot. I really hate how vague these are.

I also did have a backup system set up until like 20 minutes ago, but it was jank and bad, so I completely wiped it and am starting over. An issue I had during that debacle, was musicbee attempting to back up songs I had deleted THROUGH musicbee. I told it to delete it from my library and computer. MusicBee KNOWS those files are gone, why the hell is it still trying to back them up ;-; I found no way of fixing that issue either.

So yeah, help much appreciated here, I've done all I can without outside help. Thanks in advance anyone who gives this attention.

I'll admit I don't think I understand what you are saying.
Are you saying that you do not have two different versions of that song in your library?
And yet MusicBee is indicating that you do?
It would be good if you figure that out, and solve that first.
Or explain this 'duplicates' issue a bit better. (your cropped screenshots are probably also not sufficient for others to really understand what is going on)

It's not vague in the sense that it provides specific choices for a user to decide on a setting that matches how critical he/she is about audio quality.
For many users that will be far more useful than being presented with numbers, technical lingo or acronyms.

I was indeed saying that I do not have two copies of each song in my library, yet ONLY when I go to back my songs up, does it think I do. It thinks I have two copies of every single song. One in a non-existent directory. The copy is not real, and is absent if I check any other way.

And as I said, it doesn't have to be exclusively numeric values, but I think it would've been good to have both. Anyway, seems that's besides the point, because I didn't know you could customize what those profiles do. Makes sense, especially considering what they're called. So thanks for that tid-bit.

I've also included extra screenshots:

As you can see, in the sync menu, duplicates, everywhere else, no duplicates. Hallucinations.

To me this doesn't seem to be about portable devices (nor about syncing)
It's about alleged duplicates and about encoder settings.

If the OP desires to continue on these matters, he should probably create separate topics for them on the 'Questions' board.

The OP started out stating that they're syncing to their phone ... "and it's giving me issues." One would assume that the issues are related to the syncing. If the OP has more than one issue, and only one is related to syncing, they should, as you said, create additional topics. This makes it very confusing for other users who are searching, come across this thread, and find out it has nothing to do with syncing.

So for the OP: is the issue with duplicates at all related to syncing to your phone?
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.
