After a) hardware crash followed by a b) ? Software crash (hope not, but could be malware from CCleaner) I found that a few of my programs either did not open or had changed significantly, MB was one of those.
Hours of trying to repair v5.1 failed, installed v6. Through preferences I got the set up I am used to and like. Scrolling to an album I like and wanted to play, I found missing tags in Tracks view (title missing) but all ok in Albums and Track view. At first I thought all I need to do was to update the file from the embedded tags - no luck.
Any ideas?
I know that MB is a Manager first and I rip outside of MB (dBpoweramp, checking all tags) - habit + ease + customisable to my reqs. The reason for the Management of music is that I need to know when something has gone wrong. I'm not a player only but a MB user. Using player 2-3 times per day.
Thanks in advance and hope!

To be clear, MusicBee versions v5.1 or v6 do not exist.
My suggestion would be to do a clean install of MusicBee v3.6 RC1 portable. (which is the most recent version)
Have it re-scan your music library, see if that fixes it, and else report back.

Be sure not to delete any previous installs or folders.
They may come in handy to import previous settings or preferences.

Thanks for your reply.
v5.1 came from Help About - why should this not give an accurate version?
v6 is from the Musicbee site/ download - so I used it.
If I cannot access a program I need to do something, my problem is not the version but the absence of a tag in a particular view. MB is one of the best music Music/Manager programs.
If this problems continues to exist there is one of 2 problems; a) my PC has an ongoing problem or b) there is a setting/ issue with MB which I need to change.
My ideal is that MB always takes tags from the embedded in the FLAC file and not other sources.
I was going to post the second problem on another post. I have populated my library and found that my tags have been overwritten. e.g. ...And The Beat Goes On! D1 became Top Hits Earth, Wind & Fire. ?? Replacing the tags manually does not change the library tags.
1st issue is the most important - but have I had a bad download/ install?

Trust me, neither a v5.1 nor a v6 version of MusicBee exists.
3.6 RC1 is the most recent one.
Post some screenshots of these 'v5' or 'v6' versions if you are convinced that's what the 'Help > About' panel, and the official download page says.

Else, just follow the advice I gave you in my previous reply and then report back.

Many apologies for the delay in my reply. Windows update - no PC. It wasn't a virus, I have complete cover in that respect. Restore Points not worth the time, effort or storage space. I'm off to Linux. Is there a Linux version of MB? Hope so.
Regarding version numbers, is 3.5.1 and 3.6.0? if so I need better glasses!
My missing tags could be that my MB has been damaged. Only doubt is that installing a new 3.6 did not solve the problem. I have checked the file tags using mp3tag, Mediamonkey & Creative Media Source - all are present and correct. Originally tagged using dBpoweramp.
I'm still resolving crash issues - sound card not working - so I will leave the tags issues for now.
Thanks for your time and effort.

There is no Linux version for MB although you should check the Tips &I Tricks section as there is a thread about running MB under WINE.

MB version numbers are in this format: 3.x.xxxx. The latest 3.6 is 3.6.9171.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.
