Easier to get into and out of Exclusive Mode

I'm liking MusicBee but I have a gripe. It's a pain to get it out of exclusive mode to hear something else for a bit or run another music app. At least on my system no controls will do this. I have to exit MusicBee and often have to open it and exit several times to get it to let go. On Amazon Music this is real simple, just flick the toggle. Please? And make it sticky. Has to be re-enabled every time you run Amazon Music.

I have MusicBee 3.5.8883 P, and Windows 11 23H2 64-bit.

Just hitting the "Stop" button while something is playing immediately releases it from Exclusive mode, and other audio sources can be heard.  Hitting "Play" starts the music and grabs Exclusive mode again--unless another sound app has already grabbed it in the interim.

Check that you are running the latest version of MB.  Also, be sure you aren't hitting the "Pause" button instead of "Stop"--"Pause" will not drop Exclusive mode.  Some MB skins do not have a separate "Stop" button, be sure yours does.

If you're using a skin that only displays a Pause button, holding the Shift key when clicking it will instead perform a Stop operation.
I can't remember if it's skin-specific - I think it should work with any of them.

Or you can use a hotkey - I believe CTRL+S is the default for Stop.

Thank you all for your responses. Yes, I am realizing that the problem is on a deeper level than MusicBee. Possibly the driver for the output I use not responding properly, or maybe some garbage left over from long ago. Thanks again.
