i'm new to musicbee, so please be gentle.  i've searched the forum for an answer but cannot find one for the most current version of musicbee:  i imported new music; none of the metadata was attached.  i want to edit, but i can't because "read only files detected."  is there a work-around for this?

select the folder, where your music files are stored (e.g. c:\users\<your username>\music), right-click on the folder, select "properties", uncheck "read-only" (there will be 3 states of checkbox, you need the "empty/fully unchecked" state). click "ok", confirm resetting read-only attributes.

Expanding on what boroda said, this is done with a Windows file explorer and NOT within MB.

EDIT: Typo

Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.
