Author Topic: "Open Stream" not finding source files for FLACs  (Read 1275 times)

I have been using MusicBee for a couple days, and have been hoping to share some music with friends that are using musicbee aswell,

So, I setup a simple python http server, and portforwarded it, so that my friend could access it.

He tried playing an MP3 from my server to musicbee, and it worked perfectly

However, when we tried to play flac files from the same server, we would get the error "The source file for track xxx Could not be found."

The kicker here however, is that we tried this on VLC, and it worked no problem, using the same webserver, and using the same set songs in the list.

We have even tried accessing the songs in firefox, and that has worked,

when we have tried playing a song in chrome however, it will just download instead of playing (but it will play mp3s)

Any help with this would be appreciated?

I dont think there is any special treatment for flac files. If you are OK to do this, PM me the link for an .mp3 file and a .flac file from your server so I can see what is going on.
I am assuming you can play the flac files locally ok

There is an issue with playing flac files from the web. For now, this updated version will skip reading the tags for web flac files but will play the file.

https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee34_Patched.zip
Unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files
