MB's "library" is -not- your music files. The term "library" within MB refers to the database that contains information about your collection such as playlists, podcasts, It does not refer to your music files.

Hold the SHIFT key down while opening MB. A window will appear showing you the libraries you have. You can highlight one and click "select" and it will open. If you want to delete a library simply make not of the path. Quit that window and open a file explorer and navigate to the path of the library you want to delete. Then delete that directory. Now hold the SHIFT key down and launch MB and when the window opens you'll see that the library is gone. Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway, if you delete the only library you have, you'll have to start all over with creating your playlists, etc. If you're nervous about doing this, copy the entire library directory to a flash drive or another location on your PC so you can copy it back if you made a mistake.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

I'm not sure why you would want to keep the files for a library that you do not intend to use at all for anything in the future - they are MB specific files.  Most people don't want their computers littered with orphaned, purposeless files.

Exactly, but I'm not being clear enough. There are music files (.MP3, .M4A)  and there are MB-specific files (like the ones I found under Music/MusicBee on my computer). My understanding from what Pingaware said was that, after safely copying the music files elsewhere, one needed to remove ALL of the files from the library path, music files included. What tonekneeo suggested (I think) was to remove only the MB-specific folder and then have MusicBee rebuild that. I'm assuming that means you lose your playlists and whatever other customizations were present. When I plugged in my flash drive I intended to use the library mechanism to play all of the music on the flash drive in one go, but then afterward unplug the flash drive and have the library disappear. What happened was, MusicBee got stuck and wouldn't let me return to my original library on the computer. Is there a better way to play a stream of music from removable media (could contain multiple folders with multiple albums/artists) without using a library?
