Hey guys, i've run into a problem with Grouping by the 'Grouping' tag that only seems to occur in the 'Albums and Covers' view. I have two songs grouped as 'Vocals' and 'No Vocals' but they insist on being grouped together as 'No Vocals' whereas the same with drums and no drums doesn't occur. This issue isn't present in any of the other views where the tracks are in their correct groupings. Is this just a glitch? if i rename the grouping to !vocals it splits, but back to vocals and it rejoins no vocals

Testing this now, it's working just fine for me.
Can you repost the first screenshot, but showing the list of tracks that appear under the album in the No Vocals grouping?

I've ran into the same problem using a virtual tag. It seems like the Covers views prefers to group an album under the grouping of the first track instead of assigning each track its proper group as expected.

Here's a couple screenshots I took of a set of songs, grouped by Rating in a custom Tracks view and a custom Covers view.

Both views use the same grouping and sorting settings, however the covers view groups all tracks (except the unrated ones) in the "A" album group

My bad. Trying this out again, you're both right.
However, I would say the behaviour is to be expected or intentional. The Album Covers view is there to group album tracks together.
It won't necessarily treat albums on a track-by-track basis like the Tracks view for example. Each have their purpose.

...whereas the same with "drums" and "no drums" doesn't occur.
If you refresh (F5) the tab, I'm sure the above categories will also get grouped together for the same albums.
That's what caught me out at first - I tested without refreshing the tab.

I've tried that with my example and the two groups from the same album don't merge even after refreshing. I don't think it's expected behavior because of that, some tracks get merged into one group, while other tracks get their own separate group.

Edit: Also I've noticed this has only happened to me when there's very few releases shown in the main panel. When I use the same view with artists that have more releases the groups behave as I'd expect, each subset of tracks gets its own group.

Actually, I've noticed this too. It's strange, because nearly all my albums are grouped correctly, but I've noticed for a while now that an album (grouped by header using a Virtual Tag) I have with two distinct versions is grouped into one. I have not been able to figure out why. Maybe this thread could get moved to the Bugs subforum?
