I seem to remember in the early days of v3 that Steven said he was doing away with the configuration option to ignore leading articles and punctuation and just have it automatically enabled if "ignore daicritic marks is enabled.

Either I'm doing something wrong or it's not working as "Weird Al Yankovic" should appear in the Ws and not at the top of the alpha list.

the relevant setting is in the Sorting/ Grouping preferences. Go to the "ignore words:" and see if the quotation character is one of ignore words

Thanks Steven. I found the 'ignore words' option in Sorting/Grouping and it did have " listed. I then copied the " from "Weird Al" and pasted it as another item to ignore, leaving the one that was already there, and it now sorts properly. I'm guessing the new " wasn't the same ASCII code as the original. FYI - here are the two that are now in my 'ignore' options:  ", “ with the second one being the newly added one.
