Album Cover Picture Darkens With Background?

So I have Compact Mode nearly exactly where I want it visually, the only problem is, in Settings (1), the "overlay panels onto the background feature" offers the option to "darken background", however it also darkens the album cover picture.

Is that intentional?  I don't see any potential purpose, as it's a foreground object, but I dunno.  I *do* know that I don't want that to happen though.  Is there way to adjust that value independent of the background darken percentage?

I spend a lot of time on cover art, so being able to see it bright and clear is a must.  Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance!
