Does MB not show songs in the play history that haven't been played in MB, ie if the play count was sync'd from last.fm?  I was just confused as i can see the last play date and time (the tracks in the first image weren't played in MB but were sync'd from last.fm) but they don't appear in the play history

there isnt any logic in place to do that but i guess it could. I will move this to the wishlist

Thinking about it, it would be nice to have an icon to say the track was played in MB or not. But i was also wondering why the tracks appeared to have been played but not appearing in the play history.

there currently isnt any logic in place to record anything new in the play history that has not been played in musicbee
however once a file has been played in musicbee, it will include the playcount/last played date from the last.fm sync because that file information is shared
