I am desperate for a *very* simple app to replace itunes. Specifically to add a few ripped albums to my iphone via drag & drop. I'm happy to pay, but the task seems impossible. I actually almost cried just now. MusicBee seemed like the answer, but first thing off the bat is the error message above. Won't copy anything at all.

I've searched on this error message but cannot locate anything that makes sense.

Why can't I drag & drop a few albums that I bought without an engineering or IT degree?

Please help. I've lost 6 hours on this so far & am totally at the end of my tether here. This should be the most simple task in the world.

Curious as to why you thought MusicBee would be a "very simple app" (usually the opposite is considered true).

Understand that MB does not (and will not) natively support any Apple devices. Sveakul provided two links which may help, but the short answer is you're not going to have decent support for syncing to an iPhone.

My understanding is that foobar2000 and MediaMonkey have the ability to sync to iPhones. I don't use either of them, nor do I have an iPhone, so I suggest you do some homework to see if either of those products will do what you want.

If all you're looking for is a simple player, check out this thread.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

The easiest way to copy music files to an iPhone now is to use Drag & Drop in Explorer. However I don't believe the Apple Music app can access the files this way. I use BTR AMP almost exclusively on my iPhone now, but Neutron and Foobar can also use these external folders.
