sometimes it goes up to multiple s but that goes away when I restart music bee, it seems. But even then it's still ~0.8s.
The ~0,8s delay doesn't go away when I change my audio output device and restart MusicBee.

I didn't have this issue on the I believe 3.5.8698 version you get from the download page, but I do have it from the 3.6.9083 version.

1. Did you install any plugins recently?

2. Please redownload a clean portable MB version, and then report back if you still experience this.
(update to v3.6 using sveakul's guide here in case you didn't do it right the first time: https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=39893.msg225369#msg225369)

Not using any plugins at all.
What do you mean by "clean"? How do I check if I have an installer or portable version? I think I used an installer and patched with the patch from here.

Can I do this without deleting my previous installation or keeping the settings? If yes, how?

Hubba-hubba..  The portable version has all its application files and subfolders in ONE single folder.  Also, looking at the version number in Help/About, there will be a "P" after the number if Portable.

Clean means no plugins were added yet and you haven't changed anything from default settings except those necessary to play files on your machine--output device, etc.

Yes you can create as many Portable installations you want by adding more Portable install folders.  They operate independently of each other.

If you are applying updates to an existing version of the same type, your settings will be kept.  If the types (Installer, Portable) vary, the plot thickens considerably..
