I thought it would be a neat little feature that when logarithmic volume is selected in the preferences, moving your mouse curser over the slider would show the current level as zero or negative decibels rather than a positive percentage. 0dB would be the full volume I think and reducing it would show exactly by how many dB less you are listening at.

I don't understand why the pop-up should behave differently depending on if 'logarithmic' is selected or not?

I imagine that for the vast majority of users an indication of e.g. '50%' will be far more useful than it displaying some equivalent dB value.
