I am using windows 11 and MusicBee 3.5.8869

I moved my MusicBee files and database from one NAS to another. Files were no longer available in MusicBee showing "x" next to the file name. I then used the relink music file function to relink files on the new NAS. All was fine with music files so assumed all was OK and deleted the files from the first NAS. I have now found that all my podcasts show "x".

I tried repeating the relink process:

\\IREMIADUO\media\Music\MusicBee\Podcasts\  > \\IREMIASYN\media\Music\MusicBee\Podcasts\

I received the notification the file 'from' path does not exist'

I copied the podcast folder back to the original location and repeated relink:

 \\IREMIADUO\media\Music\MusicBee\Podcasts\  > \\IREMIASYN\media\Music\MusicBee\Podcasts\

All indications were that the process was successful - MusicBee showed the links had been restored. However, when I look at the properties of a file, the file location is given as \\IREMIADUO\media\Music\MusicBee\Podcasts\ - The original location not the new location.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards

Alan

Podcasts are treated separately from music files and the default is to store them in your MusicBee library folder. They are organised in line with the setting in Preferences > Library. It looks like you have changed the default location at some point.

If I understand where you are currently, your situation is that your podcast subscriptions are all present and the podcasts episodes are all playing correctly but are located in your old location - check this location for the podcast audio files and the Subscriptions.dat and Subscriptions.bak files.

If this is correct and the files are present, next delete any files you may have in the new podcast folder (you may want to back them up somewhere but we are doing this so that there are no errors caused by duplicating files - I think it is only the duplication of Subscriptions.dat that will cause an error).

Then:
Edit Preferences > Library > Podcasts section - Reorganise (button)

Set the 'To Folder' to your new location and Reorganise.

Thank you
I had discovered this by accident - spent a good couple of hours deleting duplicates! Thankfully from only one folder.
Will follow your instructions
