For ages I've been using Electri-Q (winamp version) as my EQ of choice. Recent Musicbee 3.6 updates have been causing issues with it (MB hanging on launch or close) and since the plugin is old as dirt I'm thinking it's time to check out something else. I haven't looked at VST EQ since the last time I tried the MB VST plugin it was causing the exact same issues I'm having with Electri-Q.
Any suggestions?

cheers

Has there been any improvement with the VST plugin for MB? Like I mentioned, the last time I tried using it (well over a year ago), just having the dll in the plugin folder was enough to cause MB to hang

The latest mb_VST.dll host is dated January 7, 2023.

The latest bass_vst.dll (version 2.4.1.6)  is dated August 31, 2023.

It definitely does not cause my MB to hang.  However, some VST plugins work, some don't, or crash upon load.  The MB VST solution is definitely behind others (like Foobar and AIMP's new versions) in reliability.

Whether this is still the case or not I don't know but a note on the host's page from Steven says "This plugin has a dependency on the Visual Studio 2010 C++ runtime. You can download and install the runtime from:
