Scan Folders for New Music: Collapse folder tree ?

Each time i go to scan for new music, the folder tree is always expanded out, and is difficult to trace down into these
 sub-folders.
Q. Is there a way to collapse the folder tree during the "scan for new music" ?

I don't have a direct answer for you, but I was wondering:

Isn't all of your music located in one parent folder?
If it is, then you can set such a folder to be continuously monitored or only monitored at startup.

Also, a hotkey to immediately scan such a folder can be set up too.
