Hi Steven,

yes, there was an entry "Berger, Petra" in the sorting tab of the tag editor.

I have changed that and now the library explorer jumps to another artist (Lana Del Rey) after deleting a song from another artist's node.

I found that most Lana Del Rey songs are tagged as "Lana Del Rey" but some songs are tagged as "Lana del Rey".

I have no idea if this could possibly have something to do with the "jump-problem".

I found an unsual behaviour when deleting songs from a node in the library explorer:

Everytime I delete one or all songs from an album node the libary explorer "jumps" to a totally different artist node.

For example:

I have opened the album "Abbey Road" in the Beatles-node.
When I delete one or all songs from this node, the library explorer jumps to a different artist. For unknown reasons it is a singer named "Petra Berger" in my case. The Petra Berger-node has no special properties (as far as I can see). It's not the first entry in the library explorer. The only thing "special" about this entry is that it contains only one song. I have no idea why the LE always jumps to this special artist.

So after deleting the song I have to go back to the Beatles-node and the procedure starts again. This happens everytime when deleting songs via the library explorer. I think you can imagine that this is a little bit annoying  

This behaviour ist not new. I saw it ever since at least months.

Questions / Strange alphabetical order in library explorer

Overall the order sequence of artist/album works fine in my library explorer.

Except: "Lana Del Rey", who is ranged between "Deep Purple" and "Delain".

I suspect that the little word "Del" is responsible for that, which would make sense in an alphabetical way.

Actually I would like to see "Lana Del Rey" in the L-section rather than under D in the library explorer.


Is there a way to change this behaviour?

There is only one little detail that I find somewhat difficult:

The handles (or drag points) of the scrollbars are nearly unvisible with standard monitor settings (at least on my machine).

Is there a chance to make them a little bit brighter?


And BTW: Is it possible to edit the xmlc file somehow, so that the user self could set the colors according their tastes or needs?

I would like to add a couple of characters to the track titles of multiple files.

Something like:

original: "You are the sunshine of my life"

to: "SG - You are the sunshine of my life"


I know that I can simply do that by editing file by file.
Unfortunately I have to do it for about 200 files.

So I am looking for a possibility to rename the title tracks of multiple files without deleting the original titles.

For example: SG + <track title>  = "SG You are the sunshine ..."


Is that possible with MB?

And if not: do you know another tool that can do it?

... I had a similar problem with one of my drives. I could solve it with the help of a little tool named "MDIS" = My Drive Is Spinning.

This tool writes a few bytes of data to the "sleeping" drive every 2 minutes. Becaus of that the drive will not go into standby mode and ... keeps spinning :-)

Your problems should be gone with MDIS.

Steven, thanks for your reply.

I think something is different though. I get the confirmation question only when pressing Shift + Del not when pressing Del only.
I am pretty shure that this was different in MB 2x.

Maybe I have not found the correct "switch" to set that in the right way?

Question about deleting files:

Now the files are gone from the library but are still on my hd.

nothing has been changing around the file deletion handling. You probably dont have "confirm file deletion..." set in first preferences tab. It will give youi the option of deleting from the library only/ deleting from library and computer

Question about deleting files:

I wanted to delete some files physically and simply pressed Del because I thought MB would ask me how to delete the files (library only or pyhsically).
It seems that this works different in MB3x.
Now the files are gone from the library but are still on my hd.

How can I restore the visibility of the files in the library to delete them finally?
Is there an option to show the prompt with the deletion question when pressing Del?
I searched for that in the settings area but could not find it.

I found a similar problem today with the latest beta version.

After copying some files into a new playlist I found that some of the mp3 files were missing.
I looked for the same files with v2.5x and the files were found as expected.
Changing again back to v3 the files were missing.

I will try again tomorrow, please let me know if I can be of any help to find the culprit.
