A couple details to add to my original post:

*I'm making this request because I think it'd be easy to implement, since it's a small change and very similar to how headers are displayed when showing them in separate rows.

*This option could be added like this in the grouping menu:

Here's another mock-up I did with some light editing, to perhaps better illustrate my point:

Note: I'm not asking for the headers font or color to be editable, just to have a line break before each new header.

It may be worth you taking a look at the option:
Albums panel header menu > Group By > Show Header In A Separate Row
I'm aware of that option and use it frequently. However it's not exactly what I'm looking for, and it's not as space efficient either.

Currently you can group albums to show them like this: https://i.imgur.com/ISk6JCE.png

My request is to add line breaks after each group (Release types, in my example), here's a mock-up: https://i.imgur.com/Rl0Vgtx.png

This could also be useful to make tier lists, like in this other mock-up: https://i.imgur.com/C8XC2qE.png

Questions / Re: Equaliser Presets - how does it work?
« on: November 09, 2022, 04:41:13 PM »
Actually answering this for anyone who also got curious and found this thread.

You need to select the EQ preset (for the specific track you want to be EQ'd automatically) and enable the equalizer first, before playing the track. If the equalizer isn't enabled, the preset won't work.

So if you use EQ presets in specific tracks, you should keep the EQ enabled at all times, even if most of your tracks don't use it.

One last thing, if you're playing an EQ'd track and open the EQ settings, you won't see the preset it's actually using, but rather the default one.

+1, as long as it's not too difficult to implement

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Add more/unlimited virtual tags

I currently only have 8 empty virtual tags left, and use most of my tags for my main custom view. If I was to make alternate custom views I'd probably run out of them. Also agree on having a better way to delete/move them around.

I think this probably is a viable wish, since for a checkbox interface I don't think it is proper to have the requirement to press [Ctrl] to check more than one box.

While it's a bit unconventional, I think it's useful so you can deselect everything quickly by clicking twice in any checkbox.
But what would be even more useful is having buttons for "Select All" and "Unselect all".

Questions / Re: Allow multiple checkboxes to be selected in Filter Buttons

You can select more than one by pressing [Ctrl].
Wow, I never thought to try this. Thank you for the info!

To any mod reading this, feel free to delete this topic or move it elsewhere (to Questions perhaps). Sorry for making a suggestion for something already implemented.

Questions / Allow multiple checkboxes to be selected in Filter Buttons
« on: September 28, 2021, 07:58:45 PM »
Hi,
There's a very great and useful feature that I recently started using, Toolbar Filter Buttons. For those who don't know what these are (as I haven't seen this discussed much at all), below this post I've added some screenshots showing how I've set them up.

Currently these buttons only allow 1 checkbox to be selected at a time. My suggestion is to allow multiple checkboxes to be selected, to allow the filters to show tracks with both 4 and 5 stars, for instance.

Sorry to revive this thread but I'm not sure if I should open a new one when my problem is similar.

I use MB a lot to clean tags I don't use. So far so good, except for one tag in particular: ASIN. The issue is: After I delete it in the Tag Inspector, if I open it again that tag will still be there.

The affected files aren't read-only, as I delete other tags along with ASIN and only that one remains.
I've made sure I'm not playing the affected files when I try to edit tags.
I've tried to do the same with Mp3Tag and it can successfully delete the tag.

Edit: I forgot to add that this doesn't always happen, but has happened to me with multiple releases.
The same thing happened to me with the DISCID tag too, but only twice.

You can set a custom font size for MusicBee in general under: Layout (1).
Why would the Tag Editor need to use a larger and dedicated font compared to any other panel in MusicBee?
Perhaps this isn't a common issue, but personally: While the default font size is fine for reading purposes, for editing I prefer having a slightly larger font. In truth its not that big of an issue for most tags, as they're far apart enough, but having an independent font for the Tag Editor would be helpful.

Regarding the Lyrics Editor in particular: Some lyrics can have lots of text, and reading/editing is easier in the eyes with a bigger font. Changing the window size allows you to fit as many lyrics as you want in your screen. The same logic applies to these options in the Floating Lyrics Window, I believe. On hindsight I should have made a separate suggestion for being able to toggle the Lyrics Editor font size in the same way it's possible in the Floating Lyrics Window. Should I make a new suggestion just based on that?

Sorry if something is hard to understand, English isn't my native language.

General Discussions / Re: Official MB appreciation thread
« on: June 11, 2021, 05:24:35 PM »
I'm a long time iTunes user (10+ years) with a fully tagged library of 30k tracks and after being recommended MB for months I finally gave it a try last month. I'm taking my time learning to use all the options available and I'm absolutely stunned on how customizable it is! Plus the tag editing tools are amazing, I don't think I'll need to use MP3Tag again. I'm an avid tagger and these tools will save me hours of work for sure.

What an amazing program you've developed, Steven! Thank you very much for all your work!!

I recently found out both of these suggestions are available in the Lyrics Floating Window. It'd be great to have both of these options added to the Edit Window as well!

Here's an image for reference:

Hello,

I'm a person that adds and edits tags in a daily basis while listening to music. However both the window size and font size in the Tag Editor are hard to read for me because of their fixed size, and editing lyrics in particular is difficult to do.

Would it be possible for these two things to be customizable? Having both a larger Tag Editor Window and larger font on said window would make MusicBee easier to use for me.
