Hi Zak!

Thank you very much for the link. The Duplicates Manager seems like something I can use. I will first play with it with a copy of my data.

I just add there the CDs i own physically. And I'm not own every CD when its just has a Logo, or not a logo, on the back. But for different covers, booklets ect...
I think that duplicate manager works only for music files, not Video (mp4), right?

Hey.
I hope I can describe my problem in a way that everyone understands. ;D

I have several versions of some albums here. For example, the covers differ, but the songs themselves are the same.
At the moment I copied the folder of the album and then added the information to the songs of the copy. For example: “The Masterpieces (Russian Edition) “ + the different Cover+cd scan.
This takes up a lot of hard disk space in the long run. Is there a way to assign multiple information to the same mp3 or flac files, so that they are displayed separately, like it's now (see Screenshot)?

Questions / Re: Tags missing in mp3tag but there are there in Musicbee
« on: October 15, 2021, 08:16:11 PM »
I've already did a post ther but they also don't know a solution :x

03-MrEvilMelodicReggae.mp3

In this file for example. wwwartist (I use this for "Vocals") is "Chris Bay; Shane Vonderwall" in musicbee, but just "Chris Bay" in mp3tag.
Even if I edit and update the tag in musicbee, it is still the same in mp3tag.

Questions / Tags missing in mp3tag but there are there in Musicbee

Hey,

I hope to be able to describe my problem in a reasonably comprehensible way.
To explain for now: I also tag my files with the singers. For this “Vocals” tag I use the “wwwartist” field.

I wanted to change something a few days ago in an already tagged album and opened it in mp3tag. I noticed that there were no entries in the field for “Vocals.” If several singers were listed, there was only one left.
So for example:
Instead of “Anna Zanoda; Gerhard Brian”
There was only “Anna Zanoda” in mp3tag.
Even in "extended tags" window was only one tag for Vocals.
But: In musicbee there are still “Anna Zanoda; Gerhard Brian”

How is that possible? Even when I close and reopen musicbee, search for new files, update database ect. It's still the same. When I change the tag in mp3tag it is changed within seconds in musicbee also.  :-X

Questions / Musicbee shows tags which are not in the file.
« on: September 20, 2021, 07:50:04 PM »
Hej,

Today, I tagged many Various Artists Sampler. I sort them by year and collect them into complete new Order. Then I added the Folder to musicbee and realized, that musicbee shows tags which are not in the tags of the mp3 file. It just at some files (maybe 20 to 25 out of 600) but I have my own way how I tag my files. So why musicbee shows tags (and even covers) which I deleted before in mp3tag?

Thanks for your help! :)

Questions / Re: Merge same songs in statistics.
« on: September 06, 2021, 07:24:15 PM »
I finally managed to move on. So today I created a new library and added my tagged music. As you can see in the screenshot, for example, 851 tracks of the Beatles are available, which is right first of all. However, I have the mono version, the original stereo version and the remastered version of the albums. I would prefer if musicbee compares “Artist” and “Title”, and that all the songs with same artist in the statistics were added up to "one" Title. Then the Beatles, for example, would have the “right” number of songs, namely 289. Is there any way to set this in the settings? Or maybe on a file?

What tags are you using to distinguish among the mono, stereo version and remastered versions? I'm not able to check this myself, but I would assume <Artist> and <Title> being equal amongst each song, they should all line up?

Maybe @Steven can weigh in?

As you see in the first screenshots, I use an own tagfield for the different Versions and Remixes of Songs. For that, I use the %mediatype% tag.

I will add a post to the wishlist Forum later :)

Mostly just "Title" and "Artist" tags are the same because sometimes other versions appears on Compilations or Singles... :/
see for example here:

Questions / Merge same songs in statistics.
« on: August 22, 2021, 08:23:51 PM »
Hey :)
I hope I can explain this in some way.
My music collection is tagged to display different versions of songs in an extra tagfield (See screenshot)

That means, the “title” is always e. g. “I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For” even if it is an Instrumental Version or any other Version/Remix.
Is it possible to get Musicbee to display such songs as ONE song in the statistics?
Example:
Artist: U2 - Title: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (Played 12 times)
Artist: U2 - Title: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - Titleversion: (New Version 2018) (Played 4 times)
Artist: U2 - Title: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - Titleversion: (Remix) (Played 5 times)

To show it in the statistic as:
Artist: U2 - Title: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (Played 21 times)
doesn't matter which versions of the Song was played.

I hope it is understandable what I mean :D

Would be great if that is possible somehow.

Thank you very much! That worked. Even without Virtual tags :)

27
One is "ORIGARTIST" and the other is "GUEST ARTIST". Both in the mp3 file as ID3v2.3 tag.

28
Hey :)

Is there any chance to show these only if the "GUEST ARTIST" and "origartist" are not empty?
If they are empty they show (Original Artist: unknown) and (Artist: Guest Artist unknown)

Thats bad. So The Only Way is to put it in the artist field like "Johnny Hallyday †"
