Questions / Sort Album Artist not working?
« on: April 20, 2017, 05:18:49 PM »
I just upgraded from 3.0.6273 to 3.0.6276 and the Sort Album Artist functionality seems not to be working. While, surprised by the missing "Sorting" tab in the "Edit" dialog, I finally found it as ALBUM ARTIST SORT-ORDER in the Tag Inspector (which, IMHO, is harder to use), when I sort my listing by Album Artist, this seems to be ignored.

Have I missed something? Is it possible to set it to work as expected again? I've gotten about halfway through setting the Album Artist Sort Order for my over 10,000 tracks, and, when done, hope to use this in organizing the actual files, but it appears to have gotten considerably more difficult.

MusicBee Wishlist / Removing Empty Folders
« on: April 20, 2017, 04:56:42 PM »
When I drag a folder from the Windows Explorer to move the contents to MusicBee, it does so, and *usually* removes the folder from the source location, as it should.

However, if the art is in a folder within the current one on the source, while the art folder is emptied out and recreated in the target location, the emptied art folder, and thus the otherwise-empty source folder remains, and has to be removed manually.

Could you make MusicBee consistently remove emptied folders from sources that have been moved, including now-empty subfolders? It's probably a small tweak, but I've now encountered the issue hundreds of times.

Thanks

Bug Reports / Latest MusicBee won't start
« on: January 01, 2017, 06:02:33 PM »
I just downloaded the latest patch of MusicBee and installed it per the directions. When I try to run it on my Windows 10 box, it doesn't start.

I see that the "Before You Post -- Read This" says that I should send the "Help/ Support/ View Settings File". Is this a directory tree under something? If it's a menu path in the interface, I can't do it, because the interface doesn't start up.

Questions / Not Finding then Re-adding Albums
« on: December 27, 2016, 11:27:13 PM »
When I restart Musicbee and it scans the library, it tells me that several albums and tracks are not found, but then adds them anew. It seems to affect mostly (but not all) artists with accents in their names, such as "Jóhann Jóhannsson" and "Katia & Marielle Labèque", as well as the band "BoA". Is this a known issue? Is there a way around it? I'm guessing that it might have something to do with character encoding, but I'm not seeing it act consistently. Clues?

Questions / Don't Display Podcasts in Music Library
« on: December 27, 2016, 11:19:55 PM »
Is there a way to not show podcasts in the Music library?

For complicated reasons (at least to me), I have iTunes and Musicbee using the same music library (organized by Musicbee). iTunes gets the podcasts, which it puts in a Podcasts folder on my library drive, with the Genre set to Podcast. When Musicbee starts up anew, it finds the podcasts and makes them visible in the interface's Music tab. I would rather have them only visible under the Podcasts tab. Is there a way to do this, if Musicbee isn't the program grabbing the podcasts?

Questions / Display iTunes Compilation Tag
« on: November 01, 2016, 07:49:48 AM »
Is it possible to display the iTunes Compilations tag without having to dig down into Edit > Settings to look? It looks like the tag is set somewhat arbitrarily for my files, and I'd like to tell at a glance if an album is tagged as an iTunes Compilation or not.

The reason I'm asking: I maintain my collection via Musicbee on a PC, but sync over to a Mac which plays the music via iTunes, so I'd like to be able to see and fix the tag easily via Musicbee.

Bug Reports / Files not moving
« on: September 02, 2016, 04:50:51 PM »
Music bee 3.0.6085 under Windows 10.

Since installing the latest Patched version, when I dragg folders of music from the File Explorer into MusicBee, MusicBee lists their properties as being in the correct place on my Music drive, but they haven't actually been moved. I've checked the Error Log, but nothing has been written to it in the past month.

Questions / Getting edited tracks into correct folders
« on: April 04, 2016, 04:13:42 PM »
On Version 3.0.5929 on Windows:

MusicBee is appropriately moving tracks to the right folders when I import them. But when I edit information about an album, it neither moves them automatically nor enables the "Send to > Folder (Move)" for the album or its tracks. How can I get the tracks into the corrected folders?

Questions / Error adding Tracks
« on: March 22, 2016, 04:19:48 AM »
I just got this error when dragging a folder with two MP3s to MusicBee3. But adding a single track in the same way a moment earlier worked fine.

Bug Reports / Error when Playing Tracks

Hi. After upgrading to 3.0 today, I'm getting this error when trying to play tracks, either by double-clicking or right-clicking and selecting "Play Now":

Questions / Now Playing: Stop after playlist?
« on: March 20, 2016, 05:54:02 PM »
Maybe I've missed something... but how can I get Now Playing to simply stop at the end of the playlist rather than looping? I'm usually just playing a single album, and want it to end when it's done rather than going back to the top.
