Questions / Open the "Preferences" window as one has left it?
« on: July 01, 2017, 08:15:35 PM »
How can one open the "Preferences" window as one has left it? So when one has selected "Hotkeys", closes the window and opens it "Hotkeys" still is selected instead of "General".

Questions / What does those arrows in front of a folder mean?
« on: July 01, 2017, 10:53:57 AM »
What does those arrows in front of a folder mean:

I would suppose they would mean the folder contains a sub folder, but obviously it is not like that. When I click on some of those folders / those arrows the arrows just disappear, nothing more appears to happen.

Questions / Re: After adding 3,5 TB music files MB frozen?

It could be a corrupt file in your external drive. I'd kill the process and start over again, but this time will import folder by folder to identify the problem file.

Thank you.

There are quite many files. How could that identify the problem to import the folders one by one?

And how could I figure out which file might be corrupt even when I enter the folders one by one?  Does MB show it then? I would not think so actually.

Many thanks again

It does look like there is a bug where the progress message is not being displayed in the dialog window, and thats fixed now.
But a new version is not yet downloadable, I guess.

You could try minimising that window and i think it should start showing the progress in the status bar
How could I do it?

Also check what files have been imported and where the importing process stopped.
Yes, how could I do that?

If you sort those imported files by path column, it might give you a clue to which folder the problem file resides.
In what view? How? In the file browser?

Questions / After adding 3,5 TB music files MB frozen?
« on: July 01, 2017, 08:30:13 AM »
I have added (to scan) about 3,5 TB music files on an external drive to MB. Now I do not have any access to MB or that window, there is no display of what happens or something like how many files are already added, how many files are to come, etc.

Do I have to cancel the process (by the Task Manager) or is there another way to go on / add the files / get it working?

Questions / Add files / folder although they are monitored?
« on: July 01, 2017, 07:53:20 AM »
When I have music folders with music files to be monitored

do I have to add them additionally with the "Add Files to Library" window:

Or do I have to add them here additionally:

Will the folders on external drives automatically be updated when those drives are plugged in? Or do I have to do it manually?

How could one resize this window and show the paths of the tracks not being available anymore:

And how could one copy that list / file names to the clipboard or / and to a (txt) file?

Questions / Re: Find / remove identical music albums / folders?

it should run on whatever files are loaded in the main panel, hmm.
OK, I am afraid, that would not help.

it doesn't do folders, though. for that you might need a dedicated file analysis program.
Yes, indeed, but there is none available which would work in a way I wanted, unfortunately, I couldn't find any at least.

Many thanks

Questions / Re: Does MB change music folders / music files?

check tags (1) preferences. it used to be an option, but I'm not sure which way is default.  i don't think it's been removed or anything.
Ah yes, stored in the files by default. But, actually it does not matter, I would think, to store the ratings in the files besides of, if it is a duplicte by content file the rating stored in it will make it unequal to duplicates, if such were available.

once you start the process the changes happen without any further confirmation. but you can always remove the volume analysis tag or choose to ignore it.
Alright, good to know.

Many thanks
