Questions / Is there a way to only show Studio Albums?
« on: February 20, 2014, 04:16:04 PM »
Is there a way to mark albums as a Studio Album, EP, Single, Live Album or Compilation album and than only show studio albums, or other album types?

I just learned what replaygain is 5 seconds ago.
Is it easy to turn it on and off? If so, I'd probably use it sometimes.

I'd love to see the wiki look like the image in the second post.

Questions / How do you make the ''play next album'' feature work?
« on: February 19, 2014, 10:03:59 AM »
There's a hotkey for ''Play next album'', but when I press it it doesn't do anything.
In Poweramp on android there's a > and a >> button. If the album ended and you press the > button it goes to the next sorted album of that artist(In my case sorted by year) If you press >> it goas straight to the next sorted album.

Is it possible in musicbee?

So I recently installed the new 2.3 version and something weird is happening.
I use artwork view that shows the tracks at the bottom if you click on the album.
If I press a letter to quickly go to a song it says ''The main panel needs to be sorted to jump file''
So, I click on disc track, and than disc track again. Now it works...but as soon as I click another album and go back to that album the message ''The main panel needs to be sorted to jump file'' appears again.

The '"F'' Partition is where I store/install most of my stuff.
In there I have a folder called ''Docs''
In there is ''Music'' ''Music I should tag'''and also ''Video Game Music''.
In Music I have a seperate map for each artist, each artist has folders for their albums, with only the albums name(No year or whatever)
In Video game Music it's sorted by Game Series, than the game.
In Music I should tag there are genre folders, than in those band folders, and in those albums. These are albums I still plan on tagging correctly, but since I use musicbee now I don't use the folder often. Musicbee has the awesome Inbox feature ^.^.

The things I hate though is that sometimes when I click an album folder, there's another album folder I have to click to get to the songs. I ususally remove one when I come accross those. I also remove all of the non music files in each album folder(No images, no playlist files, etc).
The thing that really annoys me is that the filenames are ususally done wrong ,but I don't feel like renaming every damn song I have.

Questions / Re: MusicBee cannot view tracks by filename?

Questions / Re: remove lyrics

I know that, but I think the main window at the left is a lot easier to use than the Alt+T one. I also don't think somone that tries mp3tag for the first time really knows about that at first.
I have pretty much all tags I care about in the main window xP.

I ususally open MP3tag, select all of the songs, and remove the unsynced lyrics tag and save.
You must put the unsyncedlyrics tag in the main window yourself though.

heh, I never use automatic featrues like that because I'm afraid of things like this happening.
When I imported my library to musicbee, I noticed I made a lot of tagging errors that other music players didn't recognize, so I manually corrected them. This actually helped me in creating  an almost perfect library.

Questions / Re: Sort albums by year..that are in the same year?
« on: February 13, 2014, 03:25:39 PM »
There's no date tag in the sort options :(
Date and Releasetime DO exist in Mp3tag.

If you are using Mp3tag 2.58, there is a bug where it is not writing Date (ID3v2.3 TDAT) correctly.  I have reported this on their forum (and here  :)  ) but, unfortunately, Florian has not responded to any bug reports since Oct 2013.

ReleaseTime (ID3v2.4 TDRL) is a completely different tag.

MB will use the Date it if it exists as part of "Year", if you are using "Year (yyyy)" it won't.

So it's bugged in mp3tag huh?
So If I go into musicbee and edit the year tag, in which way does it expect me to type in the date?
Also, will you see the date in the main panel artwork selection album information? If that's so, that would be..kind of annoying somehow.

Oh, you're right. It's not there.
+1 this suggestion than.

If you go to preferences>Layout(1)>Main Panel>Configure Views> and tick ''show tracks at the bottom of the main panel'' and ''when album picture is double clicked'' play album.
this happens for me, is this what you're looking for?
it's kind of the Winamp way of things, you pick an album, you pick the song at the bottom, and than it appears in the now playing playlist.

edit:
Okay, I did it by making Date a CUSTOM Tag, but I want to use the ACTUAL Date ID3 tag in my music library.
This is a nice workaround, but not what I'm looking for. I want it saved in my music files themselves.
