As title says, I'm having a bit of a weird issue. When I add files to Musicbee, it goes into the inbox, I modify the music files, tag them as I like, and then send them off to the libary. However, I recently noticed that the album art I add is being put as secondary, even if I delete the primary art first. The files are not read-only, and the only lead I have found is that the cover.jpg seems to be put into the folder with the music when it gets moved. Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing? Thanks guys.

EDIT: It seems MusicBee is indeed pulling cover.jpg out of the folder the music is originally, any way I can stop that behavior?

MusicBee Wishlist / Filter by Artwork
« on: September 20, 2015, 07:35:25 PM »
Hey guys, was just thinking that it'd be a bit handy to be able to filter by artwork in the missing tags section, but differently than what we currently have. Occasionally I find my music to be a bit larger file-wise than I thought originally, so I look into the tags and find multiple artworks within the file. This would be good for filtering that out for those who need it.

It would also help those who want to use a back cover and a front cover in their artwork, with a filter like this they'd be able to see which albums still need one or the other.

Questions / Search by Files with Multiple Artwork Images

As the title says, is there a way to search by files that have more than one piece of artwork in it? My Google-fu is failing me today.

To check if the files are read-only, select all the files in your album and right-click, that should bring you to a properties screen of sorts.

Near the bottom, right above where it says "OK", "Cancel", and a greyed out "Apply", see if the attribute Read-only is checked. If it is, click the box to uncheck it and just hit "Apply", then "OK". This should allow you to edit the files afterwards. Feel free to ask any more questions if you have any!

Oh, and I'm assuming you're under Windows 7, but other Windows versions are very similar to these steps.

Oh awesome, that second bit is exactly what I was looking for.

And uh, I remember reading that bit of the wiki multiple times, doesn't it only filter the tracks without volume analysis? I'm looking to see what does have them. I have about 50 or so songs I've done leveling to in the past, as my total songs count lays around 16,750, yet only 16,656 have no volume leveling. I was hoping to clear out those old tags before I applied the volume leveling to my entire library. My apologies if I'm misunderstanding something crucial here!  :P

Questions / Question Regarding Volume Leveling and Replay Gain Tags
« on: February 24, 2015, 01:17:50 AM »
Hey guys, I've been looking into this extensively, but I'm unable to find any information regarding MusicBee on my particular question.

Firstly, is there a way to filter my library to show what tracks do actually have replay gain tags on them or have had the volume analysis done on them? And my second question is, is there a way to automatically have replay gain tags written to a file when I add it into my library from the inbox?

Thanks for any help that you guys can offer.

Oh! Awesome response, I was missing that tiny little period there. Thanks for the help!

Hello! I've been having difficulties figuring out this tagging feature. Say I have a file called "01. Ground Theme", but none of the tags are there, just the file name. How would I go about setting this feature tag-wise to figure out the 01 is the track number and the "Ground Theme" is the title of the track? Is there a good help resource for this type of tagging? Thanks!

I was a long time iTunes user, and while I don't believe the later versions had too many issues, I never realized just how nice customization was in a program. I sold my iPod, and realized I didn't really need to use iTunes anymore and stumbled across a software review on lifehacker; MusicBee was the number one choice on the review. So I gave it a shot, and am absolutely loving it, even with the bugs! It's almost sad how a one-man team responds and fixes bugs faster than large multi-studio teams can. I think I'll be sticking with MusicBee for a very long time.

Thanks a ton for the help, everything is seamless once again. The diagram you made was very helpful!

Now off to go find out why I cannot ctrl-click more than one album, haha.

Yes, I am using 2.4.5255. It's odd because I didn't have any issues until this particular revision.
I'm a bit confused as to what I'm looking at here with the screenshots you sent. Say I had files on C:\ in the inbox, but wanted to move them onto an F:\ drive, could you help me a bit? I'm a little lost as to where to go from here.

Questions / Don't Understand This Error?
« on: May 28, 2014, 11:06:51 PM »
I noticed today when adding files through my inbox to the library that I get a "An organisation rule needs to defined for files on C:\ in the Library Auto-Organise preferences" error. This is particularly bizarre, as I have not had this issue before. I checked what I believe to be the organization preferences, and everything seemed to be the same there. Am I missing something completely obvious?

EDIT: On an unrelated note, ctrl-clicking to choose multiple albums in the inbox or anywhere else doesn't appear to work either. Maybe it's related?
