Webowplaying Redux browser extension is a server (which has access to track metadata), and in-browser media link is not a system audio-only source. there are several "adapters" (clients) for some apps.

it's possible to make mb plugin as Webowplaying Redux client, but such plugin won't be able to receive media stream metadata from audio-only source (e.g. from system audio).

more interesting for me is why do you want to see external playing track info in music player (which main purpose is to play tracks)?

You could say it's more of a functional asthetics. As you can see from my screen capture, MusicBee is on the bottom with a local song ( Can I count on you..) NOT being played, while Rainmeter is in the middle (Tranceforce 1) also not being played, but once I start playing one or the other, only 1 will display the current song playing. Would be nice to have BOTH match up to whatever audio is "playing now".

Does that make sense?

In summary: plugin that would be able to take all sound coming through the windows system and revelant info of said audio file .

i don't understand how a plugin can capture music info from a system audio source. Referred Webnowplaying Redux is a browser extension, which may or may not capture music info, but in any case it is working only inside browser (i.e. it has access to source file, containing metadata, not only to audio data).

Well, Webowplaying Redux does it for Rainmeter (passes along the audio AND info track) so don't see why it can't be done as a plugin for MB?

Would be nice to be able to have MB be able to have the ability to have web browser audio and revelant audio info/tags to go through it.

I also use Rainmeter and all revelant audio and info is able to pass into it using the Webnowplaying Redux plugin and it also sees anything I START from Musicbee and can also control the start and stop as well as advance to next video/audio from the Rainmeter players, but not MusicBee

I had installed the MB Media Control plugin as it's Windows wide for audio but doesn't seem to be able to get anything or even control the browser stop/start functions. Would think that Media Control would allow but doesn't.

In summary: plugin that would be able to take all sound coming through the windows system and revelant info of said audio file .

Any others see this as useful?

Thank you.

Maybe this will do the job: https://vb-audio.com/Cable/

Yes, and thank you.

I do have that and thought about it yesterday and trying to figure it out as of typing this response  and using it in conjunction with Voicemeter. I know Winamp has a plugin called Linein, but it doesn't seem to work either or even work on latest build of Winamp either as far as I can tell.

Don't think relevant track info would be seen though?

I'll find out eventually (or if anyone else has or figures it out let mem know here) and post an update.

Questions / Web Now Playing/ Now Playing
« on: July 03, 2023, 12:18:12 AM »
Windows 11 (latest build as of this writing)

I have tried a number of things to be able to get my web browser (Chrome latest build as of writing this) audio such as YouTube or Spotify to go through MusicBee (I have the latest version installed) such as installing WebNowPlaying-Redux and even installed the Windows 10 Media Control plugin, but nothing comes through. Redux does just fine showing all relevant info into RainMeter players and visualizers.

I've scoured these forums but can't seem to find a plugin that will work or barely any for such a purpose, unless I'm typing an incorrect keyword(s) to search for such topics. I even tried an old WinAmp plugin for Media Control but MB won't see the plugin.

Don't want to install a web browser plugin in MB.

Is it even possible? Am I doing something wrong?

Appreciate any help in advance and forgive my ignorance  (newbie but can manage)

 :o

well, that blows!

Aesthetically speaking, it looks odd just being on one side and why no option to customize more on the mini player?
Is it something planned for a future release perhaps?

Yeah, that's not working and your instructions don't lead to the settings (layout) I need, but I do thank you for your help.

I am specifically talking about the MINI player and docked to the bottom of my screen. (My Windows taskbar is at the top)

So, Main Player, you click on the Minimize button, and it docks to the bottom of my screen. So I can see the "Status Bar" along the entire length of the screen, BUT, the "Visualizer:Spectrum: does NOT run the entire length. Starts at the middle and to the right.

This is in the DOCKED and MINIMIZED setting.
Here is a screenshot. MusicBee is minimized and at the bottom and you can see the spectrum visualizer in red.

As the subject heading says...

So I have MusicBee start minimized to the bottom of my screen (4k resolution) and the EQ graphic visualizer is on the right of the app.

Is there a way to have it centered? Is it a bug?

I've checked panel settings and customization and I see nothing and even checked the XML file for some sort of adjustment  (Perhaps I've missed it?)

Anyone else seeing and experiencing the same thing?
