Questions / Re: Not detecting over half of monitored folders
« on: February 19, 2023, 12:43:09 PM »
thanks for the further advice...I managed to resolve the issue by selecting the monitored folders in the left hand side panel, then right clicking, then Send To, and finally selecting File Rescan. This brought all the missing files back. Thanks to all for assisting with this :)

just select all files in the inbox (ctrl+a), right-click on them, send to> library. this won't move any files on the disk, just mb database entries will be changed.
I tried and yes the problem is solved LOL, didn't expect it to be so simple.

the above suggestion result in some more files being moved to Library from Inbox, but there are still thousands of files on the monitored drive that are not being picked up for some bizarre reason. As per my previous post...could re-installing MB resolve this, or is there any other method that anyone could suggest first? Thanks.

....thanks for the help so far on this question....just wondering if anyone further could shed any light on how I might be able to resolve the issue? Would a uninstall/re-install be likely to fix it?....

thanks boroda....so that resulted in some files being updated to the library...most of the files that had been in the Inbox had no mp3 tags showing for artist, album etc even though these same files definitely were tagged when I last used MB about a year ago. I suspect these are now under Unknown Artist in my Lirbrary, although I can't tell for sure as when I click on Unknown Artist MB either freezes or just does not respond. It all seems very odd. Even apart from these unknown files, there are still many many files that hasn't been picked up yet either in Inbox or Library. Would it be best at this stage to just uninstall MB and reinstall? I'd appreciate any other options as I'm really at a loss to figure odd what is happening with this......

thanks both....so I eventually can see my Inbox and there are 66k+ files in there. So I assume I need to get these moved to my Library, but I'm reluctant to try anything before checking back here. What is the best way to have these moved without risking any further issues?. Thanks for all the help so far.

sorry for the silly question but where can I access the Inbox? I can see references to it in the preferences, but can't actually locate it to see if any files are stored there....

Questions / Not detecting over half of monitored folders
« on: February 11, 2023, 11:59:45 AM »
Hi
Its been about a year since I used Music Bee. Previously my monitored folder was a J Hard Drive. Since then, I installed a Google Cloud Drive which now uses the 'J' name. when running Music Bee last night, no files were detected, I assume because of the change in folder. I updated my monitored folders to my L drive (same actual drive as before but just with the different letter). MB proceeded to detect just random files/folders, and since then I cant get it to detect all files in the selected monitored folder. I have no excluded folders listed, and just can't work out why its being selective in the files/folders its detecting. Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Joe

Questions / Re: Now Playing Issue
« on: May 04, 2021, 06:32:50 PM »
Hi
Thanks for your response. I use the Artist view (Grouped by 'Sort Album Artist') and have tried the suggestion below to no avail.
I should clarify, that Album 2 in my example below doesn't start playing straight away. It suddenly pops in to the Now Playing list as soon as the current track playing from Album 1 is finished, and then it starts playing......

Questions / Now Playing Issue
« on: May 04, 2021, 06:03:16 PM »
Hi
I've been having an issue recently which I haven't been able to resolve with any of the Preferences options.
So I'm playing an album (lets call it Album 1), and Album 1 and its tracks appear in the Now Playing screen as expected.
While I'm listening to Album 1, I may want to update some info on other albums held in my Music Bee database for example, update artwork, tags etc. but not actually listen to it now (lets call this one Album 2).  Doing these updates require me to click on Album 2 within Music Bee. But this causes Album 2 to automatically start playing and appear in Now Playing, as soon as the current track playing from Album 1 has ended. It's like MusicBee assumes that by just clicking Album 2 that I want to listen to it next.
I've tried changing some settings but none seem to stop the issue. I'd appreciate if anyone has any ideas on this....
Many thanks

Hi
Thanks for your reply - I've attached a view of what I mean. So in the snip, I've selected the artist Tears For Fears and below the main artist thumbnail is a row of albums by that artist. I can click each album individually and see the relevant tracks in each one, but I'd hoped to be able to horizontally scroll through the albums one by one, left to right and vice versa, without having to use the mouse click on each one individually. I was hoping to use my arrow left and right buttons for this. I've tried to set up hot keys but cant seem to get it work the way I want. Also, when I use the < and > buttons (just above the 'Ready Boys & Girls' album in the sample snip) it does navigate through the albums but in batches of 7 or 8 rather than one by one. Thanks

Questions / Navigating left to right through albums using arrow keys
« on: April 25, 2021, 12:49:06 AM »
Hi
New user here with a question - apologies if this is answered elsewhere but I couldn't find anything.

I have my main MUSIC screen panel sorted by Album Artist. When I click on an artist all their albums appear in the band directly below which is fine.
However, I'd like to be able to navigate through these albums one at a time, using the left and right arrow keyboard buttons instead of having to click on each one. The < and > button on Music Bee only appears to navigate in batches of 5 or 6 albums rather than one album at a time.
Hopefully I'm making sense with my question. Any help or tips would be appreciated. Many thanks
