File->Library->Create New Library
Don't I need to remove the current library before doing it?

If you only changed the drive of the music folder and rearranged nothing else in the folders below it, then go back to a backup of your library from before you rescanned everything and relink the music file path with the old drive letter at the left and the new drive letter at the right (e.g. C:\ at the left and D:\ at the right).

If a lot of things have changed (folders, file names, etc), then your library is broken and you are better off just starting fresh with a new library IMO.

If you do not have a copy of your library from before you scanned your music files again, I also think you are better off just starting fresh rather than trying to manage 22000 duplicates.  Again IMO.
Hi, frankz. Thanks for the answer. I think I should start fresh. How do I do that? Although I clicked the Scan Folders button, it doesn't scan any longer. How do I remove the current library and create new one without losing the files?

Questions / Re: How do I combine multiple artists in an album?
« on: June 26, 2022, 03:25:29 PM »
use 'album artist' tag to group albums with different artists. for example, i'm using album artist [Compilations] for compilation albums. also, using [ in the beginning of album artist will sort compilations first.
Hi, boroda. Thanks for the answer. Then how do I tag them? I'm a newbie, so need the details. If you are talking about the Album button on top of the main panel, I already tried it, but it doesn't work.

Some albums have different artists such as compilation, collection and soundtrack.
In this case, MusicBee shows multiple album covers for an album. I'd like to see only a single cover.
How do I put them in a place?

Questions / How do I recover the missing files?
« on: June 26, 2022, 11:44:44 AM »
Hi, I used to use MusicBee 2 years ago and came back recently. The problem is that I changed the path of my music folder to other drive and MusicBee can't recognize many of them. Appromaxitely, half of my music collection is missing. The song title is shown, but it has a dot at the left-hand side instead of the track number. If I click it, it says, "The source file for track "Title" could not be found".
Here are what I've done so far:

1) Re-scan
2) Re-link

But none of them worked. What else should I do?

Plus, since I re-scan whole folder (22,055 files in 163 GB), there are duplicated album covers are shown. Although I managed duplicates, they still remain.
How do I get rid of them at once?

Questions / Re: How to apply the layout file?

I just found it. The left sidebar was hidden as default. When I activated it and clicked the Music button, and then changed the main panel as album, it showed me what I wanted.
Thanks for all the replies!

Yes, I'm definitely talking about LAYOUT as I mentioned in the title. Here are the links I found below:
Yes, but new users often get confused between the layout (where the panels are) and the skin (how MB looks.) That's why I asked. In addition you referred to Pro Tunes, which is a skin.

I see that frankz has answered your questions, so you should be all set now.
I see. Is there any video tutorial? I have had a hard time understanding the instruction with only text. Thanks.

Having just read your silent edit, setting your Music tab to the Album Covers view will get you most of the way there.

This should help with the rest:

Thanks, but I already read it, but it's still confusing. It doesn't say "How to make this layout, blah blah". It just gives you the basic info of the customization.

You are "definitely talking about LAYOUT," yet both links refer to skins?

ITunes look-alike skin to start with...

Interesting. But why they were discussing the layout?

Questions / How to apply the layout file?

Hi, a newbie is here.
I've been struggling to change the main view as iTuens grid view, but it's too complicated to do it. I found there was a layout file, Pro Tunes, but there was no instruction how to apply it. Please help!
Plus, how do I change the layout? I've been playing in the Arrange Panels, but I don't get it. Is there an easier way to change the layout?
