That's so smart! I didn't think to write a new virtual tag for this -- thank you for the feedback. I was referring to the <Disc #> tag but of course it would be much smarter to leave that one as-is and not cause confusion, and write a new virtual tag instead.

Thank you so much! That solved my request :).

Hi!

I understand this is a really niche request, and I'm not sure what best way to implement it, but I basically have a lot of albums where the "sections" of the album have names, not discs. Take Rozen's Sins of Hyrule: Creation of Hyrule, Time and Chaos, Era of Twilight and Legacy Enduring are the section names. Also partially live albums usually have names. With the current persistent prefix of "Disc " it's awkward to have to type "A: " or "1: ", etc., for every album.

Thus, one solution would be to have the program 1) guess that it shouldn't prefix with "Disc" if it's a lengthy entry in the disc field, or 2) have an option not to show the prefix at all, or 3) some other ingenious solution for actually writing in these dividing names rather than disc titles.

Thanks for any suggestions or help you may provide :).

Sincerely,
rfyuz.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Play Only The Disc

If you have discs visible (which I suppose would be a pre-requisite) you can simply double click the disc header ("Disc 1") and MusicBee will only queue the disc. Works for myself every time, both in Album Covers view and Album + tracks.

Bug Reports / MusicBee leaving ghost folders with single artwork file
« on: October 24, 2020, 02:51:46 AM »
Hi!

When the preferred (primary) artwork is a non-embedded artwork (for reference, mine is <Album Artist> - <Album>.Ext) and you use auto-reorganisation through organization rules and monitored folders - though I think it's the same without monitoring folders - MusicBee leaves the primary artwork in the previous folder and as such the previous folder isn't removed. This is especially a nuisance when renaming albums, as suddenly you have two almost similar folder names, one of which contains just a picture.

I assumed this wasn't an intended feature. Anyway, I hope it can be fixed (at least, some kind of remediation). If it's any help: that I can tell, my files still link to the album artwork supplied in the new folder, not the old one.

My use case is rather specific - I use OneDrive to back up my music, and as such all deletions and additions are passed over to OneDrive as well. It's therefore possible that it's interfering, but I wouldn't know how, since all my files are set to always be available offline (downloaded). Usually they play nice (changes to tags saved to the files are understood by OneDrive to re-upload the files). So if it's just me, there's probably a reason behind that.

Thanks in advance!

Yup! Works. Thanks.

As it stands, the "Album and Tracks" layout handles custom disc titles, such as "A" or "1: The Beginning" without any problems. However, the discs aren't displayed nor are the tracks split into discs in the Album Covers layout. It would be great if the latter layout had the same property!
