It would appear that MB generates the list from the entire library. The offending tags were on music in my Inbox that had yet to be added to my library.

2
The issue was the search was 'Local Node Only'. When I switched to "Entire Library" I found the items. Big thanks!!!

I recently discovered that I have some tags that I can't seem to locate. I have tried various search options and I can't find the first 3 items that appear in this list:

I had others as well and managed to find and fix them. In all cases the Genre field had tags of the form "Alternative; Alternative" (without the quotes).

Any help would be appreciated in tracking down these last few would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried the scan on startup and show dead links and neither reported any issues. When I tried to access the moved files in MusicBee was when I got a message that the files couldn't be found. Once they were restored the error was gone.

I just tried "Locate Missing Files" and nothing was reported but I had already corrected the issue. I will keep it in mind should this happen again.

I could rescan my library but I suspect this will take some time as I have around 4K FLAC albums.

5
So is there any way in MusicBee to 'validate' the library against file locations and report any files that are no longer where MusicBee thinks they are?

6
The folder was moved when MusicBee was closed and I was using Windows Explorer.

7
So I was working in my music directory, which has thousands of folders, and inadvertantly dragged a folder into another one :'(  In my panic I forgot that CTRL Z will often undo the last operation and wasn't sure which folder had been moved. I thought this setting might help but MusicBee didn't seem to notice that a folder had been moved.

I assumed this setting would compare the locations in the library against the files but that apparently isn't the case. FWIW I have also tried the tagging tools "Show Dead Links" and that also didn't find anything.

I ended up manually going throught multiple folders until I found the errant one and moved it back to it's proper location.

Is there a way in MusicBee to report missing/moved files as I can't seem to find such a feature?

It appears the issue was related to my new Synology NAS. I had to re-install Audio Station and it came with a lyric plugin already installed and enabled. I have disabled and removed the plugin and so far so good.

Never seen any .LRC files in the downloads I've done. Next time I see one I will examine it's contents for clues.

So some more info. I have my inbox on my desktop computer (ripped and downloaded music), my music files are stored on my Synology NAS (recently updated). When I move my files to my NAS from the Inbox with send to>folder (move)>send to organised folder the LRC files sometimes appear in the target directory. They are not in the source directory prior to the move. The Synology NAS has the option for a Lyrics plugin but there isn't one installed or enabled. I will report this issue to Synology to see if they are aware of anything. It would seem it's either MB or something on my NAS doing this.

That's what I'm trying to determine. I dont' have anything that I'm aware of enabled in MB that would be doing this. Looking for help to track it down.

The lrc files are in the same folder as the song it's associated with. A search for minilyrics returns nothing. It's not listed as an installed program.

I do have iTunes but it's only used when I wish to backup the device or update music on it. It's been a few weeks since it was last used. No other players installed aside from the default Windows player.

The files seem to only appear for music I've recently added or modified in MB.

It's not listed under Preferences>Plugins so I assume I don't have it. Under tags(2) lyrics all that is there is chartlyrics.com. I'd really like to track down what's causing this and I'm at a loss:-(

No plugins installed. I may have had it at some point but currently it's not there. I occaisionally have my iPhone plugged into the computer while running MB but don't use the sync function. This forum message mentions .lrc files being created as synched lyrics:

I'm not even sure what synched lyrics even are?

Not that I'm aware of. Under Tags(1) I have embed lyrics in the music file., Under Tags(2) there is chartlyrics.com and nothing else. Both items below that are unchecked.
