Questions / Help restoring MusicBee library(using iTunes xml)
« on: June 13, 2018, 11:51:09 AM »
Okay this might be a little bit difficult to explain, but I need help on how to restore my library/settings

I had MusicBee installed on my old Macbook(in Bootcamp/Windows) and my music library was on a separate partition, unorganized(well, it was literally the iTunes music folder). I had it like this so I could use iTunes on macOS and MusicBee on Windows.

My drive got messed up, but I do seem to have a backup of a MusicBee folder(but not the actual MusicBee installation) and my music library.

I have Drive/Music/MusicBee/, which has the settings and other files: "MusicBeeLibrarySettings.ini", "MusicBeeLibrary.mbl" and 4 folders, "Artist Pictures", "Downloads", "Playlists" and "Podcasts". I have all my (older) music in Drive/Music.

I used another Macbook for a bit, using iTunes on macOS and I used this same folder for my music, stored in Drive/iTunes Library, and my iTunes data(the database) in Drive/iTunes. I did carry over the play counts using iTunes on the newer Macbook. All the older music in Drive/Music is in Drive/iTunes Library.

I now have MusicBee installed on a new laptop on an SD card, using the portable version. I have not done anything yet, it is a fresh install.

My questions:

How do I copy all the music on Drive/iTunes Library to the SD Card?
How do I keep my play counts from my iTunes? I have the XML file.
How do I use my old MusicBee settings on this new installation(I really would rather not 're-customize' everything again)

Hopefully I explained everything clearly enough. If you need to know anything more, please please tell me.

Thanks in advance

Questions / A few questions

How would I make I musicbee have multiple tabs(or something on the left panel), one with music in an album view(which I have already), one with a list view, one with Artists, one with Genres?

And how do I get rid of buttons on the left panel?

Is there anything that adds animations to MusicBee's album view? Or anything

Is there a comprehensive MusicBee guide anywhere?

Anything you would recommend for someone who's starting to use MusicBee?

Any useful articles, tips, anything else?

I have used MusicBee in the past, but only as a simple way of syncing devices/SD cards.

Questions / Is there a place to download layouts for MusicBee?
« on: February 14, 2018, 12:05:46 PM »
I want MusicBee to have almost only an albums cover shown, similar to iTunes. Is there a place to download various layouts, like the one I mentioned?

The Arrange Panels feature is a bit difficult to use for now.
