Bug Reports / Re: AIFF Unknown Bitrate
« on: May 27, 2018, 10:39:31 PM »
I've just updated to the latest version 3.2.6721 and this seems to be working now, I added a few more AIFFs and it worked so I remove the two that were 'corrupted' and then added them back to the folder and they now display all the information fine.

That's strange because I have other AIFF files in my library and they display fine, it's only happened since I updated to the latest version.
Steven did make a change for sample rates in 3.2, maybe this has affected the aiff file display of bitrates.
Have you tried playing the files to see if the bitrate is displaye in the Track Information panel?

The tracks play and MusicBee recognises the artwork, artists names, track names and the length (in the top section) when playing but I don't see any other information, as you can see in the screenshot below there are other AIFF files in my library but the two most recent ones added don't show.

I should also note that when added the tracks there's a little notification that says the file is corrupted.

It's currently not supported for AIFF files. You should request it in the wishlist sub-forum.

Bug Reports / AIFF Unknown Bitrate
« on: May 26, 2018, 02:39:55 PM »
Hi,

Since I had the previous error https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=25474.0 I realised that there was a newer version of MusicBee available through the forums, I have upgraded to this and now when I add an AIFF file to MusicBee it shows as Unknown Bitrate and doesn't display the artist names or song title.

Screenshot below...

Thanks

Bug Reports / Error after clicking on Now Playing tab
« on: May 26, 2018, 12:49:49 PM »
Hi,

I received this error after click on the Now Playing Tab, it seems to only happen when an AIFF track is playing, if I play an MP3 or FLAC it works fine.

Closing MusicBee and re-opening seemed to allow me to remove any duplicates.

Hey,

Just had a pop-up with an unexpected error come up and thought I would paste it here so it can be looked into, not sure what it is... I was deleting duplicate tracks at the time.

your settings work fine for me. Make sure you have the latest
LastFm Recommendations plugin
and LastFm Stats plugin
from the plugins topic

Hmmm that's weird :(

I downloaded the plugin here (is this the correct one?) and put it into the plugins folder (which it wasn't in there previously) and it's still not working.

can you send me a link to your settings file:
if you can click on the menu: Help/ Support/ View Settings
otherwise look for MusicBee3Settings.ini in
C:\Users\<your id>\AppData\Roaming\MusicBee

Hi Steven,

Here's a link to my settings file - https://we.tl/DlyJAtxygJ

« on: June 04, 2016, 01:02:36 PM »
Hi,

I have just updated to the latest version of MusicBee and couldn't remember what skin I was using before so was going through the dark ones until I found the one I used to use and I have selected Dark Red which loaded and looks good but now I can't do anything on MusicBee, it won't even open back up even though it is open - if I close it down and reopen it loads but won't play any music or allow me to click on anything.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

Questions / Re: Beatport Auto Tagging?
« on: April 08, 2016, 08:08:11 PM »
I did try mp3tag with a Beatport script but I couldn't work out how to use it, it's not as straight forward as right clicking on a track and selecting get tag like MusicBee is it?

Is there any guide on how to use it properly as it didn't seem straight forward for me and I'm not totally clueless with computers either.
Download scripts.zip found in the link I gave you (mp3tag forum).  Unzip the ones you like or all of them into C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Mp3tag\data\sources

Fire up mp3tag and load up the album directory.  Click "Tag Sources" near the top and select which beatport scrapper you want to run.  One can load mp3tag directly from musicbee: Preferences > Tools.  Under external application, create an entry for mp3tag.

Mine is following (Name | Application Path | Parameters): MP3Tag | C:\Program Files (x86)\Mp3tag\Mp3tag.exe | "<Path>"

Now you can access mp3tag from musicbee via Right Click > Send To > External Tool.

I just mapped CTRL+M to open mp3tag when highlighting a track in Musicbee: Preferences > Hotkeys > Send To: External App [1-8].  If mp3tag is your first entry, then it should be external app [1].

Hmmm I just tried it out and it's still quite a fairly lenghtly process to tag, probably the same amount as me entering it in manually. I'm also not too keen on how Artist, Title etc... comes out in all caps.

Thanks for letting me know about doing it this way but don't think it's to my liking unfortunately :(.

You can use something like mp3tag with its built-in websource capability.  Here's a few beatport scripts: https://forums.mp3tag.de/index.php?showtopic=14479.  If outdated, it isn't too difficult to update the script if you can read the documentation (http://help.mp3tag.de/main_online.html).  Basically, if the page source of the album contains tag information you wish to use, you can grab it.  It isn't too difficult to create your own either.  This is what I use to scrap metadata from a variety of sites.
