« on: October 14, 2023, 06:16:25 PM »

Bug Reports / Wavebar in Bottom Panel Not Clickable When Maximized
« on: October 07, 2023, 04:35:53 PM »
Once I hover over the wavebar positioned at the bottom, the tooltip starts to blink and doesn't react to the mouse click, making the wavebar unresponsive. I noticed that this happens when the bottom part of the mouse cursor makes contact with the taskbar while trying to click; so this mostly happens when the window is maximized. Tested in 3.5.8669 with default and custom MB skins.

Bug Reports / Command line parameters
« on: August 08, 2022, 11:40:50 PM »
I must have had this problem for a while, but haven't had time to look into it: MusicBee or Windows seems to ignore the path (xxxx) when I target a file via the Task Scheduler. Before it has always worked for years. Also .bat files no longer work.

F.e. I'm opening the script "C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicBee\MusicBee.exe" with the argument /QueueNext "D:\MusicBee\Playlists\Auto-Playlists\Task Scheduler\Random Album.xautopf"

MusicBee starts, but it won't do anything anymore. That's the copied path from file explorer: "D:\MusicBee\Playlists\Auto-Playlists\Task Scheduler\Random Album.xautopf"

I can't find the mistake. It must have stopped working once I switched to W11 last year. I'm posting it here and not in the bugs forum because I'm not sure what's wrong. Has something changed, is it still working for anyone? Commands without paths still work for me.

Bug Reports / Two Issues Related to Toolbar Filter Buttons

1) When you click a defined filter button in tabs without selectable files (empty inbox, now playing, ...), an unexpected error pops up:

2) After you opened the toolbar filter properly it's not possible to close it via clicking onto the caption bar (inconsistent behaviour):

Thank you.

Bug Reports / Playlist Explorer: Unrelated Folder Expands Unexpectedly
« on: August 06, 2022, 01:47:05 PM »
I have an active folder (Descriptors) with two subfolders, one of which is expanded (Tracks). I duplicate an item ("romantic"), name it ("sensual") and type enter. Suddenly the other subfolder (Albums) unexpectedly opens. However, I cannot reproduce it everytime.

Here's a gif:

Thank you in advance.  :)

If it were possible to consider the first, say, three values of a tag in a certain column instead of all of them, it might be possible to display more efficient / accurate results, especially if you have multiple tag values ordered by frequency/weighting but don't need all of them.

I came up with this idea after fetching album descriptors from RYM, but wasn't entirely happy with either all or just the first tag (per Virtual Tag with $First function) being used for display. The RYM descriptors are ordered by frequency, starting with the most frequent. I think a function like this could give the user more control while filtering some tags that have multiple values.

Skins / Clarity (X)
« on: July 31, 2022, 01:31:46 PM »

I decided to revive my Clarity skin, which was released ten years ago, and started to rewrite it from scratch three years ago. It’s still a simple .xml file with some stuff I took from other skins I made for myself in the last few years, mainly from “Lost Child” which is another skin I used to release in 2018 and serves as the basis for Clarity’s remastered version.

The only things that resemble the original Clarity skin are the flat player at the bottom pane and the clean overall flair, but in the end it’s still Clarity. Great for anyone who likes smooth light interfaces. In addition, I included another version called “Clarity X”. It comes with the colour effect from the original skin’s flat player and has a more experimental approach.

NOTE
There might be odd oversights here and there, therefore please report if you notice something that hasn’t been addressed so far. Keep in mind that the X version is an experimental approach; some colour elements could interfere with each other in certain player setups.

I wouldn’t say the skins are accomplished in their current state, I’ve missed too many skin element changes in the last couple of years for that, but for now it should suffice. I recommend using the X version with the player in the bottom pane.
  • Lost Child will be re-released separately at some point in the future.
