Questions / [Solved] Error message when loving a track

Hi, i got this error message box whenever i love a track:

"Musicbee update on last.fm failed: invalid username/password"

I have disabled the Last.fm scrobble plugin, so i don't know what to do to avoid this error.
I don't use Last.fm anymore, but still use the "love" feature.

The tracks are still loved, but the error message is annoying.
I tried to disable <-> enable the plugin, erase the login/password fields.

Any tips / idea ?

Questions / Associate video clips

Hello there.
I'm trying to find a way to associate my local music video files, to my local music audio files set in Musicbee.

The best i was able to do is to create a custom web link in the "Internet" panel in the options.
With something like that:

file:///M:/Music Video Clips/$Group(<Artist>,1)/<Artist> - <Title>.mp4

So now i have a clickable link in the Track Information panel, and if the video clip exists for the song, it will play the said video.

But i was wondering if a better solution exists for this ?
Like a way to not have the link appears if the video doesn't exist. (which i doubt is doable)

Currently the thing i tried is dynamic, but i'm ok to do that manually through the use of a custom tag with a link in it. (so i can put a link to the correspondent video clip if it exists)
Problem with that now, is that the link is not clickable, and is fully displayed; which is long and awful when the "custom web link" displays a nice little link with an icon.

Any thoughts with this ?

Questions / Problem with new Custom Tag Definition

Hello, i have defined some custom tags like this:



They are mapped like this:



Then i have a MP3 file in which i input values for those tags, like this:



My problem is that those tags aren't saved in my file.
I can check it because they doesn't appear in the tag inspector, and when i do a Send to > File Rescan, those tags disappear in the "Edit" panel of the file.

I don't understand why, and i don't have this problem on my FLACs either.

Any idea ?

(some will certainly react on the "Key" custom tag, that's another question, i didn't want to overwhelm the post, it's about a problem i have when tagging with "Mixed in Key")

MusicBee API / A loading message

Hello, are there any tips around to display a loading message ?

I'm asking that for a plugin i'm working on, which can take several seconds to do what is asked.
I would like the user to know something is going on.

I'm a beginner and i didn't find anything like that in the API methods.
Is the only way a window form opening and closing when the task is done ?

My Musicbee is configured to start minimised in Compact Player mode.
I'm talking about that because i can workaround the crash by switching quickly to "maximised" mode thanks to a hotkey.

Questions / Simple Regex problem

Hello, i'm stuck.
I would like to detect when a tag contains more than one comma.

So i tried this:

$Contains(<Langue>,"(.*,.*){2,}")

So if my <Langue> tag contains this:
Allemand, Anglais, Français

Souldn't it return as true ?

Are there Roon users here ?
I spent times to give feedbacks for a product i won't use, for them to possibly improve it, and this is the result.

Questions / How to switch the presets of a DSP plugin depending on source ?

Hello there.
I'm using FabFilter Pro-Q 2 as equalizer in Musicbee.
I would like to know if there is a way to change the preset of this plugin depending of the audio source set on MusicBee.

I have a preset for my headphones but would like it to change when i'm on my speakers.
Does anyone know if there is a way to accomplish that ?

Hello.
I was wondering what, in Musicbee 3.4.7586, does the new option "Use Logarithmic Volume Scaling" in "Player" tab options ?
When i check it, sound volume is much lower than usual, and i don't know what is its usefulness.

Questions / Compact Player - Backdrop of (multiple) Artists (with same name)

Hello there.

I'm using local artist pictures stocked on local folder, with files such as Artist.jpg, Artist_01.jpg, Artist_02.jpg, ...
But how can you differentiate artists with the same name without actually changing their name (in the artist field), and without involving some mapping ?


I've got another problem with this, related to multiple splitted artists fields.
For example if i have "Artist A" and "Artist B" in splitted artists fields, no matter if i have Artist A.jpg and Artist B.jpg in the local folder, the compact player will show only Artist A pictures.
Is their a workaround for this ?

MusicBee Wishlist / Gracenote Sonic Style

Hello there.
Recently i have heard about Gracenote, and especially their AI based music descriptors... which blown me away.



I know that Musicbee uses Gracenote for auto-tagging, but i can't manage to get that amount of details.
To be honest, most of the time the tags are plain wrong, and "mood" tags are not even filled in.

To be clear, this is not a wishlist post, but i'd like to know if this technology is currently available in any way for us to tag our music ?
More informations here, here and here.

If i know i could get that amount of details and graphics automaticly in near future, i'll stop tagging manually right now all my music.

Questions / Music Explorer custom Icons

Hi everyone.
I tried to put some custom PNG files in the \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MusicBee\InternalCache\ArtistThumbs folder, to be able to change this defaut genre icon:



When i start Musicbee and go to the Explorer, the icon is displayed correctly (see first screenshot), but whenever i navigate in the left column, defaut icon come back. (see 2nd screenshot)

Is there some way to make it works ?
Is it possible to have some custom icons there ?

MusicBee Wishlist / Sizeable / Movable Search Box

Hello,
Could it be possible to restore the possibility to resize the search box in the main player ?
I was able to do it in previous version, i find the current one too small.

Maybe the possibility to move it like a tab, or access it with a shortcut.

MusicBee Wishlist / Icon Customization for Music Explorer's Header

I'm loving more and more the music explorer feature, i like the way we can navigate through tags.
So i was wondering if there's a way / trick, or a possible future feature that allows us to customize the big grey "molecular" icon on the left of the header, so every tag we choose has its own icon, in the same way artists have their own picture:

And here's two examples to illustrate two tags:




I'm posting this in the whishlist part of the forum, but maybe there's already a way to achieve this ?

Questions / "The" at the end of tracks' name

Hello, i have the 2.5.5491 version, but i had also the problem with 2.4 version:
My tracks beginning with the word "The" are cut, and "The" is put at the end of the track's name after a comma.
It doesn't happen on the main panel or on the now playing list, but everywhere else.

Example: "The Heart of Atlantis" -> "Heart of Atlantis, The"

I can't find the option to avoid that.
Any idea ?
