Last week Microsoft presented a mature version of the most important Windows release ever, Windows 10. Most of the problems with Win8.1 are being dealt with, universal apps are finally useful, and it comes with some interesting design changes.

I would like to start a thread with some unfinished concepts for a new skin based on the new "Modern v2" design language.
A lot of the elements shown below are not implemented on MusicBee, they are just ideas, some may be interesting, some may not.
This is not a request thread for Steven, it's just brainstorming. And who knows, maybe something ends up being useful!

Of course, everyone is invited to discuss and add their own ideas and concepts!

MusicBee Wishlist / Thumbnail browser should remember last view

For example, if you set thumbnail browser to "album artist" and then close it, when you open it again is back to the default "artist" list.
I think it would make more sense if it remembered the last setting, it would be very useful if you use a toolbar button to open/close the thumbnail browser often.

MusicBee Wishlist / Keep font settings

It would be nice if MusicBee could keep the custom font settings upon disabling and enabling them again.
Now, when you disable them they return to the default values.


(Also it would be great if you could specify custom font settings in skin files)

Skins / Four skining questions and a bug

I'm working on a skin but I have a few questions I'd like to ask:

- Panel.SectionHeader.Default is affecting these 2 elements. Is there any way to skin them separately?


- How can I skin the Modern Compact Player Progress Button?


- Panel.Body.Default bg is affecting these lines on the Library Explorer Tab panel. Is there any way to skin them separately?



- How can I make buttons on the preferences panel square? Now they are rounded


And one bug, I think. Buttons and text on the Main Player Flat Panel when docked on the bottom are not centered vertically:

They seem to be aligned correctly if you include the bottom frame (with the same color as the player). But if the frame has a different colour or the window is maximized then they look misaligned.

TheaterMode / XBox Music Style

I've just made this simple config based on the new XBox Music "Now Playing" interface.

They use the standard Segoe UI fonts from Windows 8/8.1/10. Previous versions of Windows may be missing the Segoe UI Light font.
Lyrics hidden by default. A small icon will appear on the player controls if there are lyrics available.
