Bug Reports / MusicBee 3.5.8367 Update - App Freezing

Hi...

Just updated to the latest MB release (3.5.8367), but upon launch, the app will completely freeze and won't respond to any interaction, although music does play in the background since track resume upon launch is active.

Tried removing and reinstalling the new version a couple of times, but unfortunately the issue persists, so I reverted back to version 3.5.8296 and all is now working well...

Questions / Musicbee / CAD problem with lyrics display

I've been a Musicbee user for several years now, and have set everything up so that music info (album art, track info, lyrics, etc.) is sent and displayed on my desktop through CDart Display (CAD).

Up until recently, whenever a track changed, MB would do its thing and search for the track's lyrics, and then CAD would receive this info and display it on the desktop without issues (see screenshot). This worked fine both for local music tracks and also with online radio, but since a couple of weeks ago, although local track lyrics are sent to CAD and are being displayed, its not the case with online radio any longer.

After a bit of troubleshooting, I noticed that if MB is minimised to the taskbar, online radio lyrics don't get fetched / refreshed, and thus are not being sent to CAD. However, if I maximise MB, I can see it searching for the lyrics, and after a second or two CAD picks them up and displays them. This all works fine until I minimise MB again...

I've played around with both MB's and CAD's settings, but can't seem to locate where the issue lies. I've also tried on another PC but with same results. Strangely, everything works well while playing local tracks, so, any ideas on what could be causing the issue?

I've been a Musicbee user for quite a while now, and have had it running on my PC and connected to the now abandoned CAD app (CDart Display) since the beginning. Even though CAD hasn't been updated in years now, all seemed to work well and both apps got along fine, but since MusicBee verision 3_4_7628, every time I open CAD while MB is running, CAD seems to lock itself up and displays no track info at all, MB tray icon gets unresponsive and doesn't allow access to the player's main window, and the PC's CPU and Memory usage shoots up quite drastically.

I've tried all MB updates since 3_4_7628 and all seem to cause the same issue, and the only solution to get CAD and MB working together again is to downgrade MB back to version 3_4_7586, which seems to be the latest MB version where both apps work without issues. I've tried all possible combinations and on several different PC's, so I'm guessing something's changed within MB's coding since version 3_4_7628 that causes the lock up.

Would love to keep using both CAD with MB's latest versions, so if anyone could shed some light into what could be causing the issue, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

While listening to online radio through MB, whenever a new track plays, the automatic popup banner is displayed for a few seconds but there's no album art on it, just the text for the track information. However, if I immediately click the MB icon on the system tray, the same popup will display with the album art showing. This happens only on online radio streams, while local file playback displays album art all the time.

Don't know if this is the way MB works or if it's a bug, but in any event, would there be any way of making album art appear all the time on automatic popup's for radio streams?

Since version 3.3.7310, album art is not displayed while listening to any online radio stream, although it is displayed if I play any offline file on my PC.

I thought maybe upgrading to the latest version (3.3.7367) would fix the problem, but issue is still present. I've had to revert back to version 3.3.7310. but the problem with this version now is that it no longer shows/rotates artist artwork, as described in this thread:

Could you maybe take a look into this whenever possible, please? Thank you...
